Bad Engine or Turbo?

I got a 6 bolt dropped into my car about 6 weeks ago. The kid who i bought the 6-bolt off of also sold me his EVO 3 turbo with it. The engine that I have was taken out of a 1g with 90k that had the head rebuilt about a year before the kid bought it, as far as my knowledge goes. The kid only put like 3k at the most on the engine and turbo. About a 2 weeks ago i noticed my oil pressure guage was going crazy so at first i thought it might be busted, then i checked my oil level and found my problem. I am burning oil at a very fast rate. I had to put in 2.5qts in, then a week later i check it and it was still full. then i beat on the car for two days, not hard just a little bit, and found that the dip stick was only reading half full.
So at first i was told the oil rings on the pistons might be bad. Then i was told to let the car idle for 10min and see if blue smoke came out of the exhaust. I did that and about 5 min into it I started to get white smoke and blue. Then i was told because of that it might be the turbo. What i want to know is is there any way to tell which one of the two it is, or could it be something else? Also what do you guys think. Sean.
