backfiring/bogging when I let off gas

Almost every time I let off the gas slowly after being under boost, the car backfires/bogs around where the boost psi transitions to vacuum. Any ideas on what is causing this? My idle isn't too great either, so could that be related?

Are you recirculating the BOV? Any CEL's? Done a tune-up lately? Have you done a boost-leak test recently? ect...

I haven't done a "real" boost leak test - at my old job we had a smoke machine to find vacuum leaks and stuff and I ran that, so there aren't any horrible leaks, but I don't know if there may be some small ones.

I would start with a boost leak test and see what you find.

I suppose it could be a compressor surge issue, although I have my bov adjusted pretty well. I know the turbo and exhaust manifold gaskets both have very minor leaks. And I just don't know when I'll get around to a boost leak test but I'll try to

I had the same problem last year,I had an injector blow a tip off.ecu was bad also.
