I'm no newbie to this site, but I forgot my password so I had to make this new account . I was on here about 6 years ago doing an automatic to manual conversion on my awd talon. Around 3/4 of a way into the project me and my girlfriend at the time split up because of my drug addiction causing me to put this project on the back burner because I was working on it at her house which is where I was staying at that time. I had to get the car towed out to my dad's house and that's where it's been sitting for 6 years. After me and my girlfriend split i fell deeper into my addiction and eventually hit rock bottom, but I'm here today 6 years later a recoverd addict married to the same girl with three wonderful kids, a great job and beautiful home! This past Thursday I went out to my dad's and got my talon back!

I was gonna make jokes and call you a newbie until I read the addiction story. I’m an EMT but even before that my parents have both been addicts since I was in elementary school. I pretty much raised myself from that point on(it’s why I’m so rough around the edges and why a lot of you reading this might not like me. You’re lucky I can read and write. Lol. Much less not be irritating) and had to deal with them being addicts from that point on even until this day. My mother died last year and dad sunk even deeper in his addictions and now has brain damage.

I don’t tell this for pity. I don’t tell this for any kind of likes or any kind of one upper. I tell you that to tell you this, and mods forgive my cursing here…

But I’m god damned proud to know you even if we don’t actually know each other and I’m proud OF YOU. You are a success story and you should walk around head held high because you’re a champ. I can’t tell you how many people don’t make it out alive or just continue with addictions and everyone suffers for it.

Welcome back and again, proud of you. Keep up the good work, as I know the struggle will always be there.

Be damned proud of yourself. Anybody can fall into an addiction, it is what makes them so powerful. Being able to pull yourself out of it and redirect that energy elsewhere is an incredible achievement.
Welcome back

Thanks guys that means alot! I have had alot of help in the past from people on this forum when it comes to troubleshooting issues with my car. I love my dsm but they are a pain in the butt to work on! LOL
