Interesting, thanks. I figured they'd be using a different thread to sidestep a copyright.2GturboTALON said:
CyberEye said:Didn't read through the whole post, so not sure if this has been covered yet. Does it actually shorten the length of the shifter? I hate how tall mine is, I cut mine about an inch and it's still to high. Any pics?
SDSGSX said:does the stock shift knob thread to it with no problems??? Also that link is that the one u bought (i know its been asked but gotta double check LoL).
daren_p....for those bearings in the tranny...can u send me a link to what your talkin about....
daveyfx said:Actually it will make the throw a little bit shorter.
dis_ill_usion said:no, no it actually won't, you only think it does
 . The closer you get to the pivot point the lesser the travel, so cutting the shifter down will make the trow shorter but not by very much. How do you think a short shifter works? Its the exact opposite of shortening the top, they lengthen the bottom part below the pivot to get more travel.
Yes (try searching), and the thread is now closed before the off-topic tsunami hits.rfeclipse81 said:so does anyone knwo if skateboard bearing will work or not because thats what they look like. i got tons of those damn thing lyin around in my garage if they do work.

BCESI said:I have a B&M shifter in my car and I love it! it definately takes some getting used to but it makes a huge difference over the stocker. The one crappy thing about it is that the drink holder becomes pretty useless.
mysticfire6602 said:would anyone be able to tell me if i have a short shifter or not? when i bought my eclipse it had an aftermarket shifter knob on it (a wooden ball by hurst) but the shifter itself is only about 3 inches above the center console. what is the normal height for our shifters? is it possible the last owner installed a short shifter and how would i know?
