There's a circlip on the end of the shaft. If it's damaged it won't seat properly and your axle won't stay in place. You might want to check that out good before you go racing again. And kinda Sounds like your axle broke to be honest. They ussually dont just pop out. I would look the axle over very carfully!

Pssssst.......don't post stuff like that. Leaving it about the axle was more than enough.

+1 on the circ. clip.

Get some new trans [or gear] fluid and flush the trans out, and while your at it look over the drive-axles like others have already advised, I also would err on the side of caution here, tear into it and while your in there inspecting it all, I'd say replace the inner drive-axle seals [located on the trans case] and only use oem ones man :thumb:.

Who's that Axel guy and why is he pooping outside?

Sorry had to do it. :D

But on a serious note. It is not an easy task to remove an axle. I would check everything very careful and make sure nothing it's broken.
Good luck mate!

Man that is rough. Well on the plus side you caught it. I mean the lack of power must have given it away but hopefully you caught your problem early enough. I mean when you say that it popped out was it that the boot on the cv was torn and broke free? Like everyone says they don't just usually pop out how ever maybe you lost the boot retainer clamp.
