whats the dif. in hp. and torgue vs 95 awd vs 95 2wd talons same everything but 2wd vs awd thanks for settelting this bet

well it really depends on how you guys were to race, from a start the awd will beat the fwd off the start, from a roll the fwd might take the awd simply because its lighter and has less drivetrain loss, then again it depends on the driver too!!!

For starters, using capital letters, commas, and periods are a good idea on these forums.

Secondly, I'm sure you could have found this information by reading the information on the main page, or by using the "search" button here in the forums.

But alas, to answer your question, then only difference between a '95 GST and a '95 GSX is in fact FWD vs. AWD, respectively. Both have the same engine and same T25 turbo, so both have the same HP and torque. However, as the previous post mentions, the FWD models are a tad lighter than the AWD models.

Factory ratings:

1g auto......180hp
1g manual..195hp
2g auto......210hp
2g manual..210hp

Of course these ratings are at the crank and there would be more loss in the awd compared to fwd.

For ppl who want a stock reliable dsm who wont really mod the car Id say fwd is better. Its less possible things that can go wrong, id imagen better gas milage considering its approx 300 lbs lighter give or take; and stock for stock the fwd is faster ( probably not from a dig ) the fwd doesnt feel as anemic or sluggish on response as the awds considering the less drive train lose and wt difference like everyone else mentioned.
A stock fwd still has plenty of traction to run from a dig against a awd depending the driver; its not until you start modding the car that the difference of awd vs fwd gets big which the difference is huge after a certain point; and who doesnt mod these things. But not that id want to be any heavier; id still prefer awd over my fwd.

If you not going to mod I still say AWD is the way to go, expecially if you live in an area where you get some snow. All around they are better. Not much more can go wrong if you dont launch it all the time and take care of it. The difference in price between AWD to FWD in a 1g is really not that much so might as well go for AWD.

Ah, the good 'ol AWD vs FWD debate... This one never seems to end. Can we give this one a rest already?

I would've prefered the heavier GSX because when you start modifying it you can actually harness the extra power. I only purchased a GST because I couldn't find a clean, low-milage GSX. Seriously, I had to drive over 100 miles one way to find this low-milage GST. :thumb:

awd owns all. on the hole shot definitly. after that it is up to the driver of the gst if he can play a good game of catch up?

Not without a lsd. I predict that it wouldn't start catching up (if it can) until about 3rd gear or more since it'll have to overcome wheel spin and modulating the throttle/clutch before that. The initial launch from the awd is a HUGE advantage.
