The only reason he turned the engine was to mate it up to that tranny. You don't need to do that to make it RWD.
You DO have to flip the motor like Bushur to put a proper RWD transmission. Your not suppose use a Transaxle with a transfer case to power just the rear wheels. That question has popped up many times, just do a search you would be surprised in what you find.

i know someone who changed your everday Focus into a rwd he put a 351 windsor and over 100k though.
