I am kind of newby with Computer systems, I really don't know jet how to make this thread as a blog>>>>>>>.:ohdamn:

Now, Updating my GST swap.
I proudly say The GST Conversion is done.

I finally finish it.
I went for a drive and it feels more powerful, I don't know why But, I think it is the weight of the car, ( less weight).

I steal have to fix a water leak, Those any body knows what size is the O ring from the water Pump?.
The leak is not on the water pump O ring, It is on the opposite side of the water pipe, It has 2 O ring, One on each side, one on the pump side and the other on the thermostat housing.
If I am mistaken Please correct me.
But I think that both O rings are the same size.
Does any one knows what size is it?

( OFFICALLY ).
Here is a pic of the GST who one day was a GSX. :rocks:

You convert it to a blog entry by clicking on the "man with a speech bubble" icon in the bottom right hand corner of all of your posts. I can do it for you but I'd rather not so you can learn how to do it on your own from here on out, let me know though!

Thanks, I will do that and see if I can figure it out.

I click on that But it doesn't transfer all the Posts.
Do I need to do something else?.

Found it.

Updating.

After finishing my GST Conversion and driving it all around the city, I start looking at my BABY and decide to start doing the AWD Conversion.

It was (Not My Day).

I start welding the Bottom peace, the one were the seats are (underneath).
And D#######M , I heat it up too much and end up burning the carpet, part of the driver seat and the center console.

It start firing inside, But like a wise man, I had my extinguisher one side of my Hand.

It burn some part of the carpet But nothing scary, The Seat, I might send it to fix, it is just the inside peace (one side), good thing that peace is not leather.
and the center Console,,,,,, Well If I am lucky I can get that at a yank Yard.

This is my first welding experiences, and I got all pissed off, but I think that It is the way how we learn.

Here are some pics of the Catastrophe.

After burning the interior, I remove all interior to keep welding so here we go.

Everything is coming out good, I removed all the carpet, seats and wires that were close of the area where I was going to do the welding.

I didn't take pictures when I just finish welding, I got so excited and was too late to look for my Camara, so I just decide to keep going.

I finished all the brackets and the painting as well, so now is time for the Bolt On Parts.

I Notes that, The Rear axle seals are leaking, I will Replace them and the T-Case is leaking as well, So I order all seals, for the rear, T-Case and Transmission as well.

Because My AWD Transmission is not good, I order the Seals that goes in the transmission, I don't know anything about transmissions, But I have a manual and I am not so chicken to give a try, Any ways it doesn't works so what I can do loose.

With the Manual and some help from your guys, I think that's all what I neeed.
Any way when it gets time to open it up, I will post it here to let you guys know how it is going.

Well, now talking about the Conversion,

I was not so satisfy with the welding that I did, but because is my first time (welding) and I really want my Baby run ASAP, I just leave it like that, I could off do some Grinding, But I steal have to buy it, so I just leave it like that for now.
I have plans on doing a full paint (under neath) so, For now I think it is OK.

Here are some pics of the welder parts so you guys can take a Look.

This is turning out to look like one of the cleanest done AWD conversions! It looks like you know exactly what you are donig and you are doing it with perfection!!
Good job and keep it up!

(Now will someone write up a 1g AWD conversion already!!)
:)

Thanks guys for the goodies.

Now, Talking about the swap.
After welding and painting the Brackets, I had to paint inside the car as well.
Today I paint the interior, I install the Gas Tank and Open The Hole on the Driver side for the AWD Fuel Tank.

The Hole for the fuel tank came out nice.

Here are some pics of the Process.

There really needs to be a tag for GST AWD or something. It'd be cool to know who has all done the conversion with out having to sort through mod lists.

Everything looks good, I been wanting to do this to my girls car but no tranny still. Good thread though

There is. I asked Chris to create one about a year ago since there was an AWD Spyder option in there.

Looks good I still do not understand why all the write ups tell you to cut holes for the gas tank bolts it is so easy to fish them in with piano wire.

Interesting.
But tooooooooo late, If I would off know that earlier, I could off go that way.

Did you document it?

Before starting my swap I read, see, and every one is doing a Hole to drop the Bolts.
Wandering why not to give some info. on how to do it. Well for the future swaps.

Any new updates on the swap?

Well.
I finish all the rear end and put everything on.
I install the Shaft and everything Line up rely nice.

But.

I open the AWD Tranny to inspect, Because 4th gear was popping out.

To my surprise, there were some broken peaces inside and the Bell housing was damaged.

I looked everywhere for a tranny with no lock, so I found a FWD with axles, starter, and dust cover with a very good price, so I just took it, which I all ready have a FWD Flywheel.

It was 200$ for all.

:sneaky: Yea. I know. Lucky me.

I found it in the Yard (Pink N Pull).

It came out from a Spyder (It was Burn all the Engine Bay).
So I took it, open it and checked, everything looked good, so I did fresh seals, which I didn't trust the old ones because of the heat from the fire, they looked good anyways because the heat didn't go that far but, is better save then sorry.

I just install the Tranny, but I am replacing the Axle Boots for the FWD,,,, They were really Crack.
I didn't want to buy new ones because I just using them for the moment while a get some money to get an AWD Tranny and of course, (New AWD Axles).
By the way Here are some picks of the AWD Tranny.

that sucks the tranny was messed up inside. i had a U-Joint that was bad on my swap what crept up at the last minute. something always seems to sneak up on you at the end that you are not expecting. Keep up the good work enjoying the thread.

my 95 donor GSX had an eprom ecu, lsd, and the super rare vented rear brakes (only made those for about 6 months). i got the car for $500 becuase someone took it to a transmission shop and decided not to fix it so signed the title over to the shop. Yes it was a very lucky find. anyway keep the thread up i have enjoyed reading it.

good job dude keep up the good work and keep us updated. I know how aggervating it is to drop and swap as I just did the auto to manual swap to my gsx. Good job dude keep us updated.
