You've greatly inspired me to attempt a conversion of my GS to 4WD
It's a good bit different since you have a 420a motor. The engines in both of his cars are 4g63's which makes the swap actually possible. If you wanted to do the same thing you would need a vehicle with the 4G engine, because they have AWD transmissions (GSX's/TSi AWD's), which I don't believe exist for the 420a engine.

It still can be done, But it will be more parts and work involved.
You need to swap the subframe to accept the back transmission mount.
But It wont be that hard (I guess).
I don't know how he would do it speaking there was no awd 420a model. The transmission from a 4g63 will not bolt up to a 420a, they are completely different. I mean I guess anything can be done with enough money though?


Anything new on the swap?
I love the way the AN fittings look and I never would have thought about a MR2 power steering unit in these cars either. Great job.. On a side note Ill be finishing up my AWD swap today. Motor and trans go in today and the first test drive!
