Avid Racing will be releasing their new full aluminum motor mount kits for the DSM community very soon. The 1G AWD will be released first in about 30days in the urethane version followed by the 2G AWD by mid to late February. They will eventually release a rigid mount kit without urethane for the hard core cars after the urethane versions are complete
.
I was asked not to post the pre-production photos because they weren't completely fine-finished but I thought they looked really good so the production models will look fantastic!

I'm lost is the mount part aluminum or is the rubber portion replaced with aluminum? I don't think that a luminum mount would be a good idea as it has a better chance or warping over time in heated conditions than steel.

The urethane version would look like the pic. The rigid set would replace the urethane with aluminum and just have steel insert to prevent damaging the aluminum over time. Pictured are the Evo mounts.

Not sure what you mean about warping??? The 6061 T-6 Aluminum is more than capable of use for motor mounts. You do know the timing cover engine mount on the 2G is aluminum! There are a ton of companies who make aluminum motor mounts like this including the ones Avid makes for the Evo. I've never had a problem with the 6-7 sets of Evo mounts I've installed over the last 3-4yrs with a couple of them used in 600-800hp cars!

Retail will probably be in the 399.95 area, but it has not been decided. Sure the market price will be less than retail though!

What's the advantage of these?

What advantage do these have to a set of Prothanes in stock mounts?

Probably nothing vs the stock main engine & trans mounts, other then looks. But I can defently see an advantage on the front & rear torque mounts, since all you can get for 2g's are those stupied inserts. These would allow much less play/slop. If they just sold the front & rear torque mounts seperatly, I'd defently pick up a set.

Edit: Wow, looks like these guy aren't too far from me, maybe no exchange/brokerage for once :tease:

and got balked at. I dig it. I think a nice looking set of tuner mounts would really help clean up the engine bay. Mounts like these have been around for ages for many other cars.

Lighter weight and more blingy? That's my guess. The solid mounts would be big around here. Too bad they don't make those available first.

I was glancing though your pics and noticed the timing side mount on your car was cut to eliminate the front bracket. The Avid 1G kit will eliminate that part of the mount also.

Nice car! I always did like white.

The 2G guys will probably benefit from these the most because inserts are only available for the frt and rear mounts

Yeah I would only buy the stiff ones like chris said. The normal don't seem worth it as you can hit steve up when he starts doing it again and get him to get his source to get you solid inserts installed and shipped for dumb cheap compared to anything else I have seen.

I've installed a set of those on an evo before. They are definatly pretty to look at. Not to sure about if they are saving weight since they are solid chunks of aluminum vs. hollow steel. They did seem a bit stiffer then say a prothane mount. I say this only by touch.

Hmmm. I made 37 sets this year for a variety of platforms. Nothing special to me. I can't wait to see the price they think these are worth.

Nevermind. I see that the whole mount is done up with a small price quote above. We just did the inserts into stock mounts. I see these as nothing more than pretty, shiny parts that serve as no more functional than what myself and others have done over the years.

I have these one preorder as well. I wonder when i will get mine. Victor from AVID said sometime this month before New Years. We will see. I will post them up as soon as they become available.

James :laser::talon:

Well, I don't know what kind of premium those will carry, but I am damn happy for the price I paid and the quality of my pieces that I got from Steve.

Thank God I was able to get in while I did and get them while I could.

I can't Thank Steve enough for my mounts. :thumb::rocks:

And you'll do for atleast another year for my 9 sec build :sneaky:;)

As much as i like the bling bling I could see this more as an upgrade fro the 1G guys. I think that if you clean them up the 2G motor mounts look pretty damn good. The front and rears are still steel of course but they are very hard to see and if the Prothane mounts don't float your boat then dig up a set of solid inserts. Personally I wouldn't be able to justify the cost.
