I just saw something...your needles don't light up now :|

the 6led bulbs don't fit in a autometer phantom series boost gauge. the bulbs are too long and they hit something in the gauge making it read incorectly

You shouldbe gotten the WLED 6LED bulb. Brighter and fits perfectly ;) .

They have two types of 6LED bulbs. They are pretty similar. Its the ones that are pictured clear on the site. W-LED in the name I think. I dunno Im too lazy to look right now. I know for a fact one of the 6LED styles fits perfectly cause my brother has them in his gauges.

Needles on the autometer gauges don't light up, the needles on my gauges weren't lighting up because of a wiring problem, I didn't even notice till after I took the picture, then fixed it.

Heres a crappy pic of my autometer ultralite series boost gauge. I just glued 1 led in the back of it where the bulb used to go. I bet it would be much better if I stuck it in there further or used 2....or 3...or 4ahha

OH yea, these are the 6-led blue bulbs and it ####ed with the needle on the boost gauge, so It's just sitting in the hole not tightened down.

i have a 6 led bulb and it wasnt bright enough for me, so my friend gave me an "ultra white" blub that is supposed to be for the sidemarkers on his car, but it was identicle in size to the autometer bulb. threw that in and its really bright. ill post pictures tonight.

edit...
just realized this thread is kinda old. i hope it doesnt get closed because its got some good information in it...

I find your post very interesting, please post pics so that I can get an idea of how bright it is. I maye want to do this when my boost/egt comes in! Did you try it with a colored "ultra" bulb yet?

This is really old thread and I'm sorry for bringing it back up from the dead, but I didn't want to start a new one.

For all the people who installed blue LEDs in their phantom gauges, can you read all the numbers on the gauge? Autometer now has a LED kit for their gauges, anyone tried those?

I could see the numbers a lot better then I could compared to the original bulbs. After a while the 9led was a bit bright for me. My brother had a red 6led in his and his looked good too.

Well i got a jumbo led 5000mcd at 2.4V and 20mA but i need to know how many and what ohm retistor's i need can someone guive me some insight???
