So I got this car from a friend a month or so ago.
It leaked a bit at the time but once it got cold here "It got bad"

I cant seem to find any info about transmission seals.
Not sure what seal is behind this and if it would require dropping the transmission.

It is probably the seal where the torque converter is and yes you would have to pull the tranny. And all the hillbillies i know call them "front tranny seals" on RWD cars. not sure what they are called on ours. but a part store guy should be able to figure it out.
 
Thanks for such a fast reply. Now i need to find a heated garage do do all the work in.
Other wise I am just going to end up paying some place to fix it, and I dont want to do that.
 
There should be another seal in there to (at least i think so). it will be a seal on the output shaft for the transfer case. you should change that too while you are in there. Will save time. Also you can check if it is only the output shaft seal that is leaking by pulling off the transfer case and looking for where the leak is coming from.
