Lost my auto trans on my 1996 GST a few months back. Ended up buying a used trans and sent it to IPT for a full rebuild. Got trans back from IPT and had local trans shop do the drop and swap as I don't have the room, knowledge, or tools necessary to do it at home. Also I'm 68 and I'm just not in the mood to work on a car versus driving it. Anyways got the trans installed, bought it home and put a new intercooler, radiator, slim fans, and the rest of the motor back together. Topped off all fluids, checked everything, and went for a ride. 30 minutes in and noticed the trans was shifting rather hard both from a dead stop and while moving. Kicked it in the butt one time from about a 40 mile an hour roll. Trans basically went into neutral, sounded like a bucket of bolts under the hood, and lost all gears including reverse. Left message for John at IPT but have not heard back from him yet.

I am looking for someone that can do a turnkey job for me to pull, rebuild, reinstall, and do whatever else is necessary to get back on the road.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DTR in Oklahoma. Darren is busy but can do the job and has his own transmission dyno for our stuff.

Even though my trans from him has a broken main shaft at the moment, it shifts GREAT with 200 psi across every clutch pack.
You can tell him Marty Wilson of Independence Kansas recommended him.
I think he has Facebook too but I don't.

What state and big nearby city you in?

There are some shops that can rebuild these that aren't on the forums.

You possibly lost the converter or you're still like 3 quarts short on fluid. Neutral, flat surface and check while running with the parking brake on.

In Valparaiso, Indiana about an hour from Chicago. Have already used Boostin' in the past but they are way too backed up. Strictly Performance stopped working on DSM's a few years ago. They only want to do the GTR's and big dollar stuff now.
