At times my car will down shift (kick out of OD) other than this it drives fine and handles good...

Guessing this is the end clutch because if I take the OD off then give it a minute or two then put the OD back on it shifts back into OD. (Nothing happens when it down shifts basically when I hit the OD off because its already off least im assuming..) But whats weird only does it when its actually hot.

And I have looked through and haven't seen any solid answers.. what is a good upgrade for A/T trans besides the translab shiftkit (which I need to find someone to install once I get it).

I had two dsms do this. make sure the fluid is not black and burnt. then if check the fluid leval. if low add fluid.

If the car still does this it is the shift solenoid that's bad. go to a auto zone, o'Reilly's and have them scan it for codes. if you have none good but if you get some bad.

When the transmission did this i changed the fluid and filter.

Fluid is ok but I will double check (yes I check when it's hot and in neutral after shifting through gears) and my car autozone - advanced cannot check because of being pre ODBII, its not fully compliant which some scanners won't read.

They tried but wouldn't read.

I have pulled codes from my 95 TSI AWD at home with no special tools. Here is a link to the AUTODSM site. Automatic Dsm's

They have great forums specific to auto cars. Also here is the link for Import Performance Transmissions. IPT Performance Transmissions | Performance Parts | Torque Converters

IPT has a great number of forums and they are about the best there is for DSM Autos (as far as I know at least). I took a quick look for the page on pulling codes, but I gotta run to work. Good luck and post what the problem turns out to be. Id like to know.
