so i recently bought my first dsm. when i bought the car i was told it needed a torque converter. i took it to the trans shop and had the torque converter and pump replaced. still didnt shift. so they replaced the vechile speed sensor and the pulse generators. still nothing. they said there computer couldnt get a signal on my car so they cant tell exactly whats wrong with it. when i first got the car it would shift fine after it warmed up for about 10 mins. now it doesnt even move. my question is could they have put the wrong torque converter in? or does anyone have any other ideas?

The prob is in the valve body. It should have 3rd if it can reverse.
Can you borrow/swap a valve body to test it ?
Cheers !

Sounds to me the gears in the trans itself are shot and not chetching, If you dont want to dump cash into the car trying to figure out issues I would look around for a new trans you can even look on this site

BTW, I read up on your blog/posts regarding your constant maintenance/build....don't give up on the your DSM, it probably just needs a boosted 4g63 transplant.

So basicly I have to pull out the trans to remove that part and install a new one.
I just can't get over how high priced that part is might as well get a used trans for that price $1000 WTF are you for real?

First thing i would do is get a different Transmission control unit> T.C.U. . It controls all shifting. Look all over your transmission for anything unhooked. If you do pull the transmission be sure the torque converter gets spun in all the way.
