Automatic Trans Question

Hey guys this is my problem, when im driving my car and say i get on it it goes practically all the way to redline till shifting gears. I tried it with od on and off and it does the same thing. I am not really sure what thats about it so if anybody can let me know, ill be greatfull..

Most likely just a worn auto trany, trying to pick the best shift point but it has to wait due to it being rather used up. Don't worry though I worn tranny isn't always a tranny ready to break on you - its just going to take longer. Does it shift smooth?

yea the car shifts smooth, it just goes to redline before shifting. So your tellin me i need a new tranny
