Well it was suggested in the 2008 thread to start a new thread for 2009. I have another update so I figured it was time to start the 2009 thread. I'll start it out with reposting what We've already done in 2009 thus far:

Well It's that time of year again and the tracks are opening up!

This was march 8th or so.

GDNF2ET and I took his car to the track this weekend.

YouTube - Tracy's AWD Auto Daily Driver Talon

Best time of the day was 11.60, best mph was 118mph.

Race weight was 3350ish lbs. Run was made with the car in "D" on the chipped TCU :D

Pretty happy with the times considering first outting of the year. The track wasn't prepped too great and the stock springs and old tires were not helping. Couldn't get the car to hook up well and we were stuck in the 1.7s with 60 foots. Going to swap out the 264s for some 272s and get some better tires and suspension on this thing, hoping that can get some extra mph and improve the 60 foot enough to get it into the 11.3-11.4s solidly. We also suspect something is up with the converter, and plan on addressing that this season as well. I expect we'll get this car into the 10s by the end of the season without race gas, nitrous, or weight reduction. Not bad for a daily driver :)

Went back to the track today with a buddy's car. He's not a member on here I don't think. But here's the run down:

1990 Eagle Summit Sedan
FWD Auto trans (built by us) + stock converter
16G turbo
93 Octane Pump gas :hellyeah:
M&H street tire
JM "race" intake manifold
FP2 cams + adj. cam gears
OEM 100,000 mile bottom end
OEM 6 bolt 1G head
2G exhaust manifold
2G O2 housing
2.5" exhaust
Not sure what core FMIC w/ custom short route 2.5" piping
1G BOV
660 injectors + walbro 255 + stock regulator :thumb:
custom coilover suspension

TCU chipped for custom shifts + full pressure for high throttle (car is raced in "D") - PM for more info on this

EPROM ECU - Custom FULL Speed Density conversion (not DS-MAP), w/ ECU controlled vehicle speed based boost control (utilizing AEM boost solenoid)

Car is stock appearing with hood shut - has full interior.

I think that pretty much covers everything.

Once we got the launch down we had it solidly running 11.60s all day, getting faster each try. Need some better brakes to hold it still on full stall, couldn't get the 60 foots out of the 1.8x range. I think with a little bit more RPM out of the hole it's for some 1.7x 60 foots in it. Got the car into the 11.5x range at the very end of the day with a best of 11.57 @ 119mph.

I went to the track this weekend to shake the car down at Capital Raceway. We had the boost controller turned off, and the nitrous was jetted for a small 35 shot to see if it would stall up since I cant seem to get it to go any higher than 2200rpm without spray. Good news is that after I would spray it, the rpm would shoot up pretty quickly. The bad news is that once it gets to about 3000rpm, it pulls through both the foot brake and the e-brake. The wastegate would hold at about 10psi until about 7500rpm which it would then shoot up to about 27-30psi. I dont really care about that since I plan on running even more boost when I get the co2 setup dialed in. Best ET of the day was a 13.2 and best mph was 122. I'm pretty confident that once we get the brakes situation taken car of and the boost dialed it, this car will easily make it into the 9s. Below is a brief rundown of the setup and a video of the car pulling through the brakes:

95 Talon TSI AWD

Motor:
Built 6 bolt bottom end with ross .30 over pistions and eagle rods with the balance shafts removed
Built 2G head with full ferrera valvetrain, crower springs, and a race port and polish

Turbo setup (New for 2009):

aem boost valve and co2 boost control
Fuel:
Bosch 1600cc injectors, magnus fuel rail, braided line from rail to filter, stock feed and return line (will upgrade soon), walboro 255 in tank and bosch 044 inline pumps tuned for use of E85.
Nitrous:
NX wet kit with heater and purge jetted for 35 shot
Suspension and Tires:
Omni power full coilovers, ebay camber kit, super cheap $50 15" rims painted black and hoosier quick time biasplys.
Electronics:
AEM EMS, AEM injector driver box, and Stewart Warner electric gauges

I just went to the track last Friday. I am running an FP18g on 650's at 24psi. I was having spark breakdown in forth gear and the car wouldn't go past 103mph. Also, I couldn't get the damn thing to brake boost so my best time was 13.7 @ 103mph with a 2.2 60' time.

I recently fixed my spark problem and I think I know why the car wasn't brake boosting. So I will be going back to the track soon and trying to break into the 12's.

Try lighting the 1st light, put it in neutral, and floor the pedal a couple times to build up vaccum for the brakes, after the rpms go down, put it in drive and light your 2nd light..122 mph OMG

Went back to the track today with a buddy's car. He's not a member on here I don't think. But here's the run down:

1990 Eagle Summit Sedan
FWD Auto trans (built by us) + stock converter

Is it running a modified stock trans or swapped with a F4A33?

Had a kind of a bitter sweet night last night...

Best Pass was 11.212 @ 130.37 with a JUNK 2.0 60 ft... Was having issues with the nitrous, then once that was semi straightened out the track went to shit and started having issues with the car breaking up...

I wanted to see 10's and with a semi ok 60ft it would have been there... But I'll take the 130mph pass!!! Not bad for an Auto damn near full weight 2g...

I hope to have mine running this weekend Dave. Cross your fingers, maybe I can get an e.t to match my 135 traps.............

That Summit is such a sleeper:thumb:
I bet the looks on peoples faces is priceless

Yea it's pretty hilarious. got a lot of funny reactions from people at the track that day.

Yeah, believe me you're on speed dial. How you wanna do the trans tuning? I'd REALLY rather not have to trailer this thing to Fredricksburg.

Went a little faster last night having some issues but still the best pass to date...

60' - 1.742
330 - 4.566
1/8 - 6.878
mph - 105.49
1000 - 8.870
1/4 - 10.638
mph - 121.27

Still having some issues but went a little faster...

60' - 1.779
1/8 - 6.796
mph - 108.10
1/4 - 10.438
mph - 133.27

Car is still having break up issues in 3rd gear and now I have been warned not to come back without proper safety equip...

It's been awhile since I've posted on here. I work at a tuner shop here in Kansas, and we recently went with an Auto setup in our shop car. Car is going under the knive again now so I doubt we will get a chance to improve this season. So here is a few vids of the better times for the season. Hoping for alot more next year out of this car and my own once I put the Auto back in the car. ;)

1999 Mistu GSX

2.3 Stroker
BJs Cylinder Head shop stage 4 with BC 280 Cams
AMS Race Intake Manifold
Shearer T4 Divided Exhaust Manifold with twin Tial 44 gates
BW SS372 T4 turbo
1600cc PTE injectors
Full Blown dual pump setup with dual 255's
AEM EMS with alot of track and road tune (no AWD dynos around here)
ET streets all around
ZEX direct port wet kit
IPT built trans and Billet Converter

Also this car was driven in a "True Street" format race on these passes. Meaning a 30 mile cruise to the track and back to back racing once eliminations started. After racing drove it back to the shop in running condition.
