Auto with issues P0700 & P0750

I've spent time searching with no luck. Please help.

A friend has a 98 eclipse automatic. It started having issue a few months ago, where it would go into tranny limp mode, 2nd gear, and flashed codes relating to failed shift solenoids A B and i think C and a PO700, module communication thing.

He replaced the shift solenoid pack, got a little better, same problem, then they found chunks in the tranny, so had it rebuilt. They checked the relays and just bought a used TCM and basically 2 of the same codes came back. PO700 and PO750.

2600 dollars later, same problems.


So what he is wondering, is there any correlation between the ECM and TCM. Maybe a sensor on the motor that could be sending wrong signals? something that may not be setting off the ECM, but cause the TCM to read wrong? Because this is the 3rd shop to do work on it and almost everything has made a noticeable difference but nothing has completely solved the problem. Any ideas at all?

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/420...-tranny-wont-shift-out-first-help-please.html I had the same problem turns out it was a intermittent tcu relay bout $6 at the local parts store the relay is up on the fire wall behind the battery by the brake booster in a cluster of three or four other relays. try that its only $6 more dollars to a already huge bill if that fails try doing a google search for Chrysler ETAX system that should give you some insight on the way the tcu communicates with the ecu. Hope this helps
