Hi guys, I need the gurus. I'm sure I'm overlooking something or I have a a bad TCU.
l completed the swap. 92 galant vr4 manual to auto swap.
placed the front clutch and rear clutch packs and installed IPT shift kit per instructions. That transmission was stuck in 3 rd gear and had no reverse. Went back into the trans, checked the valve body and rubber o-ring. Put it all back together, and still no reverse, only 3 rd gear. (assuming) limp mode.
Figured I had a screwed up transmission. So I bought another transmission ($700) with a guarantee from a used auto trans shop. The first trans came out a junk yard, so I don't know it's true history.
I get the new stock transmisson installed. Waa laa, I have reverse, but it's still stuck in 3rd gear. I wired a 3 plug TCU up as per instruction on EFI website. I have no idea if the TCU is good or bad, is there a way to test it??
The TCU came with a shift box, but the owner just snipped the wires, and there are no instructions. I will post a picture later on today, and see if one of you can identify it.
next, I have a spare 2 plug AWD TCU, can it be wired in to work? Is there some sensor or adjustment that needs to made to a sensor, that could cause the TCU to go into limp mode.
Thanks for any help, I have spent way to much time and money and been without a pov the last 3 months because of this swap.
Thanks
