auto trans converter bolts

OK So I am super confused.


I have a 1993 Eclipse GSX AUTO with a 7 bolt block.

If I take the auto trans out of the GSX in order to put it into my galant with a 6 bolt, will I need the kiggly adapter plate or not? Would I use a 1g or a 2g converter? I know its a 1g car but the 7 bolt block so this is confusing me.

Now... Based upon the tech data found on kiggly's website, "Above about 600-700whp, it is really difficult to keep the bolts tight with only 4 bolts and it is a good idea to step up to an 8-bolt system like Precision Industries offers to go with our flexplate."

PI doesnt offer a 1g converter as far as I know, so do the Sinister Speed converters have an 8 bolt option as well for the 1g?

Not sure about the adapter plate or the 1g converter. I'm pretty sure you won't need one and will use an 1g converter because its from a 1g trans. I think that makes the difference. Sinister doesn't do the 8 pad mod as far as I know but they will drill and tap the pads for bigger 7/16s bolts which should have better holding power than the stock bolts.

Use red loctite on the converter bolt threads and torquevthe stock bolts down to 100+ ft lbs and you'll be good for awhile. I did that with my sinister 8" core 2 and It's held up just fine on my converter. Granted I haven't tuned or turned the power up yet but I've been told that loctite and torquing them to 100+ ft lbs will be good to 500whp
