The auto trans is VERY capable in stock form. Just about the only upgrades we recommend is a shift kit, new end clutches, and that's about it. That alone will be enough to handle the power to get you into the high 9's.

Yeah, I got one. I had to replace the clutch plates around 60k miles. Was thinking about shift kit in the near future too. Anyone chime in with a shift kit. Hard to install? Is it easier to just buy the replacement from IPT?

The shift kits are pretty easy to install. There is a vfaq on installing one. Also full line pressure is a great mod.

i have one also. It'll handle a lot of power if you take care it. Bigger cooler is also recommended. Mines stock with bigger cooler and a chipped tcu that changes the line pressure and shift points, haven't had any problems. Mods are in profile. Also you can't brake boost every time you take off and expect it to last.

I also have a auto. The shift kit feels incredible... huge diffence than stock. .. sharp...quick shifts.... Alot of people bash on autos but if taken care of and the right mods... it will shift quicker than a stick..its nice to just mash on the gas and not worry about missing shifts and such... concertraite on just driving. Ive always owned autos... just my prefrence.

I also have auto with ipt shift kit love it , bigger cooler is a must temps. get really hot on the stock cooler.
