I don’t know if this is because it got cold out side or what...

Well anyway I keep hearing this grinding noise when I first start up the car, but when I push the clutch in its fine, I think it might be the Trans converter or whatever... Just wondering if any one had this problem or if I should worry about it. It does go away after awhile. It’s a 96 ESi if that helps. (Thanks)

Same thing happended to me 2 winters ago. Took it to Mitsu and they said it was my "starter clutch" wasnt dis-ingaging. (excuse spelling). Had to get a new starter. Just thinking about that awful noise when i started it up:barf:

If its more of a ticking thats proably just your lifters sticking a bit from not getting oil up there yet. Happens to me still on cold starts. I rev a bit and it goes away. Mitsu guy said nothing to worry about.:)
