Auto tranny shifting weird?

When I am driving after I let off the gas, the tranny shifts down into what seems to be neutral. At like 1500 rpms. When I bought the car the guy said I needed new sensors. Can someone help?

So it drives fine and you let off the gas and goes into neutral? What about when you apply the gas again?

You may be feeling the lock up clutch in the torque conterter releasing. If you feel there are problems I would start with checking for proper fluid level and check codes. This is a good guide to DIY code checking. TCU Codes

Well You may not believe this but I havent really drove an automatic. When I push the gas it's okay. I'm pretty sure the sensors need changed. I'm just not used to having an auto tranny always had a five speed.

I just started experiencing this same problem tonight in my auto 96 GSX. I reversed it, put it into drive, and when I went to give it gas, the RPM's were going up, but I wasn't going anywhere. It seemed like it was in neutral. I kept giving it gas, and switched from Neutral to drive, and finally it seemed to shift normal. When I first start it, and give it gas to go, I can get the RPM's up to around 2-3k before I'll start actually moving.
