auto swap to manual

My friend has just bought a auto 92 tsi and wants to convert it to 5 speed. im not familiar with the auto"s and don't know what needs to be swapped other then the trans.. Can someone write a list of all the parts that nned to be changed to help me out.. Thanks

I do know on 1g auto to manual swap you do need a manual rear end..The gear ratio's are different..

I just got done with mine but my car is a fwd, The manual sifter bolted right into the auto shifter's place, even used the same center consul. you need the clutch/ brake assembly out of a manuel. that's the hardest part to do. there are outlines in the metal from the inside firewall that you will need to cut out for the cables and the master cylinder shaft. you need the master cylinder, its line and line bracket, the manual cable grommet, and i had to use the Manuel trans mount, the auto made my engine tilt up as the auto mount sits a bit higher. On mine the bracket that mounts to the engine bay on the auto sat higher and there was no way you could bolt the auto trans mount to the manual.
etc oh and by the way take the steering column out. don't try working around it while putting the pedals in. If you ever need help or have a question go ahead and contact me!
