Hey guys will an auto ecu work in a 5sp??? I didn't think there is a difference since the autos have there own computer

Kurt, It will work if its a temp fix. Also if you have an SAFC you could compensate for air / fuel a little to get away with it.

AT comes with 390cc injectors.
and a smaller turbo and different cams. All of which change the tuning incorporated in the code.

If this is for the '90 GS-T Cyclone_90, it's a somewhat moot point, since there weren't any Automatic turbo cars in '90 and there are problems using the later ECU's with the '90 wiring. Even after swapping pins 6 and 14 it's very likely your tach won't work correctly.

Thanks for all the info guys. Could I take a 91 turbo auto ECU that has eprom sock it with the dsmlink and have it work fine if I rewire the ecu (change pins 6-14 and change and rewire the coil packs)??? Thanks

You don't even have to rewire the coils/tach to have a '91+ ECU work, just move pins 6 and 14. The dowside is your tach will be erratic. Fixing that requires replacing the tach guage and switching to a '91+ PTM, coils and wiring. http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/ecuconversion.html
