ARP head stud torquing.

So with a quick search, I didn't find an answer to this. I'm planning on getting the AROUND head studs in the next few weeks. Do the studs themselves have to be torqued in before the head goes on and then the caps and washers? Haven't seen any info regarding this, could have looked in wrong spot if its been covered already. Thanks...

No, just snugged down.

Clean and chase (NOT tap) the head bolt holes in the block.

Install lightly lubed studs in the block finger tight..

Then head gasket.

Place washers in the head..

Slip head over studs and thu washers

So the washers will go on top of the head gasket, and below the head itself? Not sure if I understood you right on that.

I snugged mine down then backed it off a little. I did clean the threads in the block but didn't use lube on the block end, haven't had any issues at 30 psi flowing near 60lbs/min.

And the washers will sit inside the head, you will see the outline for them.

no.. you did not understand....

somethimes there are issues getting the stud washer in place once the head is slipped over the studs.. That is why the washers get placed in the head first
