is dsm graveyard a rip off cause im looking at there stage one ? good yes or no?

:hmm:
but im am looking to build it up to 400hp ish what can a 7 bolt handle without blowing it up just bolt ons?

im in camp right now i get home in 6 days ill throw up some photos oh my car
and i dont really know how to build a dsm i always had hondas i know i know they are a p.o.s thats why i got the gst i would love to hear from you guys :sneaky::hellyeah::hellyeah:

If you don't know anything about building dsms then I honestly wouldn't waist your money because something will end up going wrong try and find a dsmer in the area that could maybe help you out with your build.. 400whp isn't an easy task but yes the stock bottom end can handle that but your going to need a solid tune and have no knock at all to keep your motor safe good luck with your build hope it'll all work out for you :thumb: you'll enjoy a properly modified dsm there's nothin like them

well i cant say i know nothin LOL like i know the basic just not alot about it , cause i was just gonna get a new engine from them but thats a bad idea it self?
where else could i find an engine?

DSMgraveyard has been proven to be a shit company. don't buy a single thing from them, ever.

okay well i guess im gonna be start from scratch you guys seem to know what you talking about so im just gonna use my old block and build i guess...... now whats better a 20g turbo or a 50 trim ?

We can build you an awesome engine and offer advice on the build. Pm me for more details

Goals for the Car are what.

i want a 400 ish hp eclipse has low miles on the body
something i can drive on road trips but something fast enough to piss off the v8s

open to anything really, best part is i sold this car and i just got it back off the guy i sold it to , my gf knows this is gonna be my life till she is finished:hellyeah::thumb:

but i was reading on here and 16g turbos are only good till 375 max most people say 350ish so id have to go with something bigger then a 16g unless i makee it a hybrid but idk if thats a good idea

whats the hp range on those?

450+. But you starting in the wrong place talking about what turbo to put on.

The first thing that needs to be done is machine work. Your block and head and (bare) intake(if your keeping the stock one) need to hot tanked.

Ps Before hot tanking the head have it pressure checked to make sure it has no cracks. Recommend replacing all your valve guides to bronze if you can afford it. If not just replace any cracked ones with stock guides.

Then the surface of your block and head must be checked for any type of warping. If any warpage they must be machine perfect flat. Resurfaced.

Then you need to have your crankshaft magnafluxed to be sure it's sound. Next have it micropolished if all is well.

Then you can start thinking about bearings, rods, pistons. Then valves, springs, retainers, and cams. During this stage is when you need to start thinking about what turbo to use.

Maybe if you can find a really good tuner you could do a bump in compression ratio. If not or if your wanting to tune yourself keep it at a 8.5:1 CR.

If 400hp is your goal your turbo of choice should be a hx35. It will get you there and past whence your experienced enough to go further.

Also when your done building your engine your not done yet. Your trans/clutch will need to be upgraded. 5spd stock dont hold up much past 450hp. Then still not done. Next comes tires and suspension. If you neglect them you'll be just spinning wheels not going anywhere.

Remember you can't just harden one link in a chain and expect to other links to be just as strong. The whole chain has to be built or you'll be replacing links all the time.

thanks man ill throw up some pictures when i get home where i am starting and what not im gonna follow you guide im hoping to have it all put together by the end of may . and if i were to do everything you listed do how much would this cost me average

also what kinda fuel system would i need to support this? like fuel pump etc?
i found the parts you told me to find .

For fuel system I'd go either Walbro 255lph or Aeromotive Stealth 340lph pump.
Then a new fuel filter(fuel lab) then bigger injectors, I'd say FIC 1150cc, then a fuel pressure regulator (Aeromotive A1000 or fuel lab)
If you have E85 fuel available I would do the swap.

I had my block bored .040 over per piston, head pressure tested, head resurfaced and hot tanked, block surfaced and hot tanked, valve job(3-5 angle) and valves installed to proper height, and pistons pressed on rods all for 449$. But that varies as I've read ppl paying more for less. After chosing your rods and pistons be sure to have them balanced then have your entire rotating assembly(bottom end) balanced.

Fuel for 450hp can be supplied by a 255 walbro(jayz racing), 880-1000cc injectors (Fuel injector clinic), and fuel lab AFPR.

Better throw in a built tranny from TRE, Shep, or Jack transmissions.

You could just copy this guy's build: 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Spyder - Ten Second Spyder - Modified Magazine

Are you sure you want your dsm to have 600hp? You have $20k laying around? Maybe you're going to build it over the next 5-10 years. Do you have another daily driver? Have you checked out this guide?: Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners

It throws people off when someone is new to dsm's and they come on here and the first thing they ask is how to make 600hp...try making 300hp first.

It's easy to make a list, but it's a lot harder to buy the parts, install them, and maintain the car. Get in there and get your hands dirty, dont sit on here and make dream lists all day. It is important to have goals and it's good to write down what you want to achieve so you can check it off as you go though.

Do the research for what part you really need based on what you're using the car for (weekend cruiser, road race/autocross, drag, etc.) instead of asking which parts to buy. There's a ton of threads on here just like this.
