around 400hp build need help?"

Its going to cost alot to get to 400fwhp. I already have dumped about 6k into my 1g talon getting parts together and building it and it still needs a built tranny and a few other things but i am also going for more than 500awhp on mine. If you are looking for a good engine check out Buschur Racing they build great engines for a pretty good price to me. Like Dylan0123 said you may have the best list in the world but once it starts coming together you will be watching your bank account go down very very fast. Now if you are going for 600fwhp you are talking over a few years in building up to that and about 20k in just parts. a DSM doesnt need 600fwhp to eat Mustangs and Camaros heck just a few bolt ons is all they need. Take my old GST i had 7 bolt with these mods: Injin Intake pipe, DSMlink v3 lite, 14b port and polished, MBC, 550cc injectors, walbro 190lph and 2 1/2 inch exhaust and it would beat camaros and mustangs pretty easily in rolls but digs it would get raped. IMO you should just do the basic bolt ons almost every new dsm owner does, 16g, exhaust, fmic, injectors, fuel pump, SAFC (or DSMlink if you want more control), mbc, gm maf and ecmlink maf cable and an AFPR. Do just those minor things and see if you will even like it. because that will be about 275whp if tuned good.

Sorry for having it all cluttered up LOL.

if you really want to have a fast car and are starting from scratch, you should sell that silly FWd'er and buy a GSX. I gurantee you won't find a person alive with a GSt who doesn't wish they had a gsx. You haven't wasted a bumch of money on a your gst yet, so buy the gsx before you do.

I'd much rather have a 300hp gsx than a 600hp gst.

they are sooo hard to find :(
i wish but the body only has 84,000 on it thats why i want it and looking for more of a high way monster
but trust me man i would if i could but people to awd swap all the time i have that planned but in like a year or two cause thats alot of work

That is ignorant, to put it politely. This is coming from someone who has had a couple of each, and my last setup was a FWD moving 67lbs/min.

There are advantages to both and I'll leave it at that.

its not ignorant. i totally understand someone building a gst over time because that is what they had. But if this guy is really going to throw 40 grand at a car to make 600hp why wouldn't you use a gsx.

It like some one wiht a non turbo saying they are going to build a 600hp turbocharged DSM. Why not start with the right foundation.

I do not believe that there is a person alive with a fwd DSM who does not wish they had awd.

name one instance where a FWD is more desirable beyond shooting for the 14b drag record or somehting where you need a featherweight car that doesn't need to transfer very much pwer to the ground.

Ignorant. FWD is well capable of doing quite a few things better than awd. Its not all about driving four wheels all the time.

Op build the car but respect the build. Don't just read about some parts that are said to help you or give more hp. Research each step of your build. Know why you bought the part, and how that part works and how your gonna use it on the car. Know what your gonna use it for.

Ignore all the just do bolt on bs. Don't just buy crap and throw it in on the car and turn a knob then think your fast. Don't get safc, get link. You'd never get close to 500 let alone 6 with safc. For 600hp get an evo 8 maf or better, run speed density.

Don't go cheap, but also be thrifty with your money. Look for part outs or people selling bnib parts. Or low mile parts. Just because you make good money doesn't mean you should go spend it all on big expensive parts.

Why don't you list them then?

commuting in nice weather?:hellyeah:

More dyno choices?

well first and foremost, a mitsu "honey-comb" style mass air flow sensor is NOT gonna register air flow to 600HP. period. dsm or evo, dont matter. either a switch to a blow-thru set up or full speed density. mitsu maf will not work at that amount of air flow.

as far as GST or GSX goes, to each his own. i personally pick mitsu for its 4 wheel drive. if i was to purposely build a FF i would probably go with a Honduh. those front wheel drives weigh in WAY less than a GST. B series trannys are better suited for gettin down to business than a 2Gb GST tranny.

GSX for the win for sure. im sure i'll be attacked soon :)

The evo sensors can register up to 66lbs/min actually. Last time i checked that was good enough for 600 hp. Dsm sensors can do 52lbs/min some have had good luck and done more.
