LOL no need to even look at mine its running just fine. I got some bad news about my new turbo. Jusmx gave me the skinny on it and called it and I quote " A puny T3". Oh well at least I didn't pay for it. Maybe I can off it to someone but I doubt it. Anybody know a honda guy wanting a cheap turbo?

Who all plans to attend?

How's noon sound at the earliest, and remember its $5 per head to get in.

We will be there most of the afternoon since the family is going. I plan to hit the water as well through the day.

If anyone wants to bring something to cook there are grills at the lake and tables to set up and eat at. Also be sure to bring your preferred drinks, just be responsible.

Well here I am again...7 years after I sold my 3rd DSM and have gotten sucked back into this incredible addiction. I just recently picked up a nearly virgin white 1996 Eagle Talon TSi AWD.

Picked up this one for $2400 with a few issues but definitely without a PO's project mess. When I say virgin on this car I mean it, there is ofcourse a K&N airfilter (in-box) and an upgraded FP Big T28 (cheaper than stock replacement at the time) and a recent timing belt replacement (dealership installed) but other than that it is STOCK. It even has an uncut intake BOV tube, restricter in the BCS, and not a single aftermarket gauge in sight. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for to start off a new project, especially since this is purely a project and can sit stripped down in the garage for long periods of time without me stressing over transportation.

Interestingly, it came with a TON of paperwork, all the way back to the original sales worksheet created at the dealership. I'm the 5th owner in total but the car has only been driven 20,000 miles the past 5 years and been garaged for the past 7 years.

The car has a few issues, primarily to do with the clutch. The previous own claimed the clutch throw out bearing had gone out but my diagnosis has narrowed it down to potentially a failed master cylinder instead. They couldn't get it started (due to the clutch safety switch missing the rubber bump stop to press the switch) and I was able to talk the owners down another 400$ from their previous offer (this was before I did any diagnosis and was anticipating a clutch job). Simple disconnect of the safety switch and she started right up and purrsssssss. Clutch doesn't want to fully disengage but that is for another topic, not here.

Just to give you guys an idea of what my prior cars were:

1996 Eclipse GS Auto - got backed into twice, still drove and made enough insurance money off of it to buy my following GST .
1992 Eclipse GS Manual - bought as a backup and car to practice driving a 5 speed. Still in operating condition and my Father's current DD for the past 5 years.
1997 Eclipse GST Manual - was my drag car for 3 years while serving dual purpose as a DD....bad decision. Constant breakdowns and timing belt snaps led to a very disappointing time. Rebuilt and sold to a highschool friend which still owns it (although he broke the tranny and it sits around for now). The GST was the car that I used to do a write-up for the first lambo doors install tutorial on here (I know, I know, silly teenage years ).
2003 Firebird Auto v6 - Wife's old car that replaced the GST for awhile. Sold to Car*Mart for toooooo little.
2005 Ford Escape - Wife's daily driver, over 100k miles since we bought it and NOTHING has broken (knock on wood).
2003 Chevy Impala - current daily driver I inherented from the wife's grandmother (pristine condition with very little miles).

My wife just cannot seem to understand the DSM crack-like properties....

Looking forward to catch back up on all the updates and progess the site has made in the past few years!

We had a blast and look forward to the next meet. After the meet Colby and Albert came over and hung out. Thanks guys for helping out on the car.

zachakagoat, nice car.

I told my friend i would ask.. he's got a 95-96 eclipse 5 speed 420a for 2 grand that he is selling.

Had a great time on my end. Too bad i had to cut it short but all in all still had fun. My sun burn isn't as bad as i thought. I would have posted about it yesterday but after i got home i took a nap that turned into a full blown case of passing the f$#% out. Woke up at 5 this morning on the couch.LOL. I definitely look forward to the next meet. This time we had 3 cars. The first one had 2. Maybe we can make it 4 the next one. I had an idea maybe the next meet could be at my wedding? That would be awesome to see a few dsms there. There would be good food and a kick @#$ party. LOL just an idea.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty excited about having a nice virgin Talon to work with. This thing even has an uncut intake tube and the IC resonator still in place.

As for the body, I don't expect to make any changes anytime soon as this is primarily going to be a track car. I did the appearance thing on my 97 gst and I gotta say high school is loooooong gone LOL. I would possibly swap to the 2gb talon body for the right price but that's after the engine has a good chunk knocked out.

I'm located up in NWA where do you guys usually have your meets/track days? Personally Tulsa raceway is closer for me but may make some trips once this thing has a new clutch put in.

More of small gatherings than track days man. ACTUALLY it might be fun to take a meet to the track, but is there even a track in the ARK? Besides 1/8 mile drag strips.

I would keep that thing completely stock on the outside, you got a Fu$king steal!

Yea, I think a completely stock look on the outside will be my goal for this one, even down to retaining the stock exhaust out the back.

Considering that the car has a nearly brand new (less than 25,000 miles) on a FP Big T28 I will probably try and push it to the limits. I'm working on pushing through some of the free mods while I wait for my new master cylinder, slave cylinder, and SS clutch line to arrive to determine if the cylinders are completely shot or if it is something internal to the tranny that is causing my disengagement problems.

Also I have a pretty nasty oil leak from either the oil pan gasket (my guess) or the oil sending unit area which has coated the entire lower driver's side suspension. But before I can clean it off and test it out I need the car moving so I can do a good steam clean under the engine. It's up on rollers at the moment while I check it out.

As for a dragstrip, I know most of the strips in AR are 1/8 mile, but you can still have a blast at those perfecting your driving technique. I have raced personally at both Sallisaw, OK (1/8th mile) and Tulsa Raceway and enjoyed both of them.

might be selling the car sooner then later. got a guy coming to look at it right now hope he gets it. then its on to the first gen baby
