Just to add - Getting that 105ft/lbs on the flywheel by hand is retarded...
 
anyone interested in a shep trans stage one for cheap. like dirt cheap compared to the usual price
 
Yeah, it took two people. Had my son hold a breaking bar in the front crank pulley and we managed to get it torqued.

New clutch is in and the transmission back on. Its about ready to go back in. I have to Fab up a solid front motor mount now.



LOL i got one torqued to 105 by hand on my car then said f#@$% it and hit the rest with my impact until i thought it was tight enough.....

any body have a 2g dsmlink cable I can borrow to see if something is wrong with mine or if its my car?

I've used both brackets I had tge one from my 90 on there. Then I put the 93 back on it. No difference. Help!!!

Basically, it's this simple.

If you use a 90 Trans with a 91+ Bracket you won't have 1-2. If you use a 91+ Trans with a 90 bracket, you won't have 5-R. If you swapped the arm, and are using mismatched bracket/Trans years then I can't see you having any gear sequence.

You need to figure out where you goofed. Count the splines on the shaft, mark your brackets for the years, and give it another shot. Make sure you have the correct shifter arm to match your bracket, and both must match your year trans.

Now.. do you have single-adjustable cable or dual adjustable ones?

I appreciate it, it just stopped connecting during logging and will not connect again. would be working on the car but working on a honduh to make some extra change this weekend

thinking about selling or parting out the talon, waiting a year or so and buying an Evo.
 
Well if you do decide to part with it, let me know. I might be interested in the Shortblock and link package without the ECU.

Actually, James, it just hit me. Bring the cable over. Since it was originally mine and I've worked with Tom countless times, I can send it and see if he can test it for free. Maybe even replace or repair it.

But i got everything together and i can turn the motor over by jumping the starter over the solenoid but when i turn the key i get nothing.......

Anythoughts?? this is dissapointing i have everything connected but IDK.

My radiator is ####ed :( also my CAS wired just seemed to pull out LOL. ###!

Also V8killer have you made it to the post office yet? LOL.

Ignition switch, when you go to turn it over does it click?


Shep trans anyone I need money and I'm selling it cheap like 900 bucks cheap

Yes it clicks. There is a metal box down by the ecu that clicks too. Its weird how things break when it sits.......disapointing. what would that box be called? A neutral switch? But even when I have a friend turn the key completely on and I jump it over the starter (which fried my second starter) nothing!
 
hmm... I reworked some connectors and now when i just turn the key on the motor tries to start, and when i turn the key off it still tries to start for about 5-10 seconds after that. any thoughts?

I know my CAS is shot would that be the reason my spark plug wires are not getting fire??

Got the enging and transmission in the car today.

Only mishap was letting the engine swing into the AC condenser. That sucks ...

So now I have to repair the AC system also.

i got a condensor i have no idea how good it is though because my cars Blower motor didnt work when i bought it....
