Ah we all know DSMs pull some amazing stunts in the power world. There's just always been something alluring to me about the LSx series. I have absolutely no complaints with leaving DSMs behind (for now) and seating myself in the cockpit of this catfish. Absolutely love it. Only thing I -don't- like is the Richmond gearset in the rear. Loud as hell even when setup spot-on perfectly. Gonna have to go with a heavier weight gear oil to dampen the noise a bit more. Having the 3point body braces and Chassis-Mounted Torque Bar make the harmonics that much louder. Buuuut a couple of small turbo's would really wake er' up.

Jeeze. That's nice. -ponders- Wouldn't want to trade that out for a rustless, dentless, running 2G AWD with new Drive-Shaft, Rear End, Engine, 16g, and whatnot? :p Just has a boost leak.

Say pics of this 2g? not your 2g that you reck it is it LOL jk :)

In all 4 or just 1&4 or 2&3?

It could be power transistor if only 2 coils are firing.

yeah I tested 3 and 4 so all of it I am afraid :(

does anybody have a spare power transistor? I need powaa..

If I could only flash sell my car and a couple of things LOL.

Might post the cut on craigslist and see what bites I get.

Heck, I've been thinking of trading the LS1 off for a nice 4WD truck. Oooh the Redneck within my grows stronger.

xikeiyaza LOL I got a 99 ram 4wd id consider swapping its extendad cab solid axle. it has a lift kit with mud tires.
I drove the talon again today... sigh.. I miss driving it im starting on the rack swap tomorrow along with the wheel bearing so then all that's left is tunning it. I also found a computer repair shop in cabot that knows how to soder the sockets in then just need it tuned... I do have a question about dsm link. If someone has the link connector can they tune it and remove the link with it still being tuned? or do I have to buy the cable and leave it installed all the time.?

Hey AJ! Forgot to ask if you made it through the national test?

We get a whole new set of EMTs today. Not looking foward to it LOL. 2 semesters left for me.

1 : Shoot me some pictures. Otherwise there's a 2000 Z71 4x4 I'm going to look at around LittleRock Friday.

2 : The cable simply translates the information from Link into a usable format for the Modified Eprom to read on the ECU. It's ECMLink's way to try to keep copy-cats from making knock-off versions of the software. Once the information is uploaded/burnt to the EPROM chip on the ECU (IE : you hit Upload in Link) It's there until you make a change or remove it. Eprom chips can hold information for a very, very long time, even completely removed from a circuit board. It's technology that's been used in computers for a very long time. Almost like Flash Memory that you find in a Cell Phone...but that's more like what's used in 98-99 Black Box ECU's

You can remove the cable. Ecmlink chip is just like a flash drive, it holds memory.

^ Exactly like that pretty much.

Have some learnin' for those interested!

Oh, and how's that GSex doing?

It's getting there, so far I had to replace fuel pump (stilling waiting for 255HP) have a stock one in for now, fuel injectors, had a wheel bearing scare but turned out it was exhaust hanger rubbing against the driveshaft. Replaced flywheel bolts, and put ACL race bearings in for the hell of it. I haven't got to get I to boost yet :'(
I've got it idle/cruised tuned pretty good, but does no go with that stock pump because I'm changing it out soon. After it's running like a champ, I'm painting it, dropping some back seats in, and a sound system and be set till something else breaks! Lol

Haha. That's the best anyone can ask for! Glad to see it's doing well bud! Post some new pictures of it! Probably the only DSM I'd come back into the game for.

Found out my gm maf is gone as well, wont idle for shit until i unplug it. Got a feeling that happened when I had to drive it to work when we had that slush mix few weeks ago. Think i'm going to be pulling the maft out and going with speed density as well.

I'm going to be broke ass after tonight.

Just ordered a set of 288/280 kelford, S&R kit, APR head bolts, HKS cam gear, HKS kevlar belt, Manley valves. Top end is gonna have some fun. It's all going together after link is in.

NOooOoO. Why Kelfords? Those things have a habit of snapping. >.< David Buschur has had a handful of them give out on the Dyno and left the client needing a new head and all kinds of crap.

Damn, I didn't know about that. I have hks in it now and that's what i normally stick with but a buddy of mine said he runs these in his and has never had issue with them. I'll give him a call about it in the morning, he runs the shop I ordered it from so I might see about swapping them out for hks.

Yeah, I mean that's what i've always ran and I've never had issue with them. It's set i'll be making that call and getting them swapped for a set of HKS.

Go hks, it's what Blake put in my gsx. Works wonderful so far.

What set are you running?

Yeah, HKS are good. As are Delta. Kelfords I would rather not chance. You could be fine....or they could snap and leave you performing a rebuild.
