Well I pulled the head off today and to my surprise, 1 inch was missing from the head gasket between cylinders 2 & 3. Pretty nasty stuff. Anyway, I took a look at the head and it seems that the valves are open slightly on cyl 2, maybe 3 as well I just took one look and am about to head to sleep. The rest were shut tight. Is this normal or am I looking at bent valves? I plan to do the water test tomorrow.

If the head is excessively warped. The distortion can cause the valves to crack off the seats.

I'll check it today, I found a lot of things the previous owner cut corners on. The lower timing belt cover was stitched up because it was broken and was held on by 2 bolts. At least he had the balance shafts eliminated.

The previous owner removed the AC belt LOL.

Well theres your problem!

Head gasket blown that bad, I'd be tearing down the whole motor. I wouldn't be surprised to find pieces of the fire ring down in the oil pan. Do it right once to avoid repeated failures and repeated expenditures.

What causes this to blow so badly? I'm guessing its that china made turbo that came with the car? I'm just trying to get it up and running to sell LOL. I'll pull the oil pan later to see if I can find the fire ring.

Yea I'd say she probably overheated a bit!

I would get the head checked out for warp for sure.

My car was all stock except for the ebay turbo. Thats the only variable I can think off that caused this. That or it just happened over time haha.

Well another clue to the puzzle has been added. Seems that it overheated before I owned it because you can still see the residue and what not from overheating. Seems the head waas never machined if they did change the HG. Well its definitely going to the machine shop now.

Does this really warrant tearing down the whole motor? I can't afford that LOL.

I say youll be ok with millingthe head and new head hasket and head bolts/ studs. It looks like the head lifted from them reusing the old head bolts or not properly torquing them down.

At the most clean the oil pan. Tearing down the motor is not necessary, thays what oil filters are for.

Alright getting it machined tomorrow. Will running the ebay 16g cause this issue again? I have no immediate t-25 or 14b to substitute it. I plan on replacing a few hoses that look like shit.

I'm just gonna buy a 14b LOL, would rather be safer than sorry. All I wanted was a reliable daily driver haha. Hopefully I get a fast turn around for the head. Pretty much only going to get it cleaned and resurfaced. Maybe have them check the valves too. I'm pretty much broke right now, just tryina get it running. Using the SUV is not good for gas.

I can't find a decent machine shop in my area LOL. I called some up and they are closed now... as in shutdown
