Ive done some searching and found threads with people asking the same question but I cannot find a straight answer.
Im running a 3" custom vband o2 housing and I still have the stock downpipe. I went ahead and installed it...I know blah blehh.. So I obviously can't get a consistent reading on my Wideband. My friend has a 3" GSX downpipe he would sell me for cheap. I just want to see if anyone has had any luck with installing an AWD downpipe on a FWD. I know they have different bends and all but it looks like you would be able to use a GSX DP on a GST but not the other way around. Thanks in advance for your reply :)

Itll obviously bolt up, But good luck trying to get it to match up with the rest of your exhaust.

The difference between them is that the FWD downpipe bends toward the center of the underbody, where the driveshaft would be on an AWD. YES the downpipe would bolt up, but here lies the problem, your downpipe will be offset from the rest of your exhaust system.

The exhaust on the FWD runs right where the driveshaft would be on an AWD.

Yeah I know it seems ghetto, but I could get my cat back over enough to bolt up with modifying the hangar. Ill probably just go with a gst dp. I was juat weighing the option since its readily available and I would have minimal downtime.

My motto is do it right the first time, if your buddies AWD downpipe is cheap enough, buy it and throw it up on classifieds, make a little bit of money, and some seller reputation. :thumb:

You wont be able to maneuver the Fwd exhaust over far enough to bolt to that AWD dp.. It goes down the driveshaft path to the fuel tank then kind of 90s around it and up and over the rear sub frame.. If you are a decent welder you could get some 2.5 or 3" (which ever your cat back is) pipe and make your own exhaust from the AWD dp back..

Are you sure your fwd one now isnt leaking pre wideband. That is most likely your reason for getting inconsistent readings.. Maybe that custom vband is leaking. Something to check before dumping more money into it.

Its definitely leaking pre wideband. Right where the o2 bolts to the DP. 3" to a 2/12. Ive got it set up where my double gasket trick blocks most of the leak but its still garbage when trying to tune.
