Anyone got away with a Cometic HG without resurfacing the block?

I'm going to resurface the head but I don't want to resurface the block. I'll try to get it as clean as possible before installing everything. What do you think the chances are of it pushing coolant?

I've done it without resurfacing the head nor the block before. The motor is still running strong.

Would I advise it? Nope. But that customer was cheap and very very lucky.

I put a cometic hg on my car with only resurfacing the head, not advised but i still had 180 compression across the board

Friend has a Cometic, without a surfaced head or block, and I run a Mitsu. MLS the same way. Neither cars push coolant and have average compression (for the age of the motors.) I used copper spray on mine.

I run a cometic w/ a decked head, and original block never resurfaced and torqued for the 3rd time. Cleaned with a razor blade, and the gasket was copper sprayed. No probs to date (6 months).
