Anybody using a Protorque converter,Level 10,IPT converter in a 2G? Is it billet? How is the conveter doing? Which company would you prefer/ recommend to have a quality product? With your converter what other type of mods do you have in your trans. I need a info for my 2G FWD car. Anybody has a billet converter, tell me about it? Thanks, JOSE.

I have IPT's torque converter. They took mine and rebuilt it stronger also giving it a 4k stall too. I love it and it's very streetable. It's actually not noticable to me anymore. I was considering a billet, but after talking with John @ IPT he assured me that the rebuilt would be plenty strong. I have launch my car a couple times already and it's still shifting strong. I also have his total rebuild kit too. hope this helps you in a decision at all...

I have an IPT restalled converter.
Since my car is a work in progress, I have yet to run it anywhere near it's full potential.
What I can tell you is that going from my stock trans and converter on a B16g, to a restalled converter, IPT trans, and LSD insert (street tires) I was able to drop 2/10th on my 60' going from a 2.4 to a 2.2. I'm sure that with this season I can bring it down to even sub 2 60's as I'll be running a nice slick setup.

i had bought one from Level 10 when i was having the tranny rebuilt, and they sent me a really shitty TC saying it was upgraded. 5 days after having it in, the neddle bearing in the TC went and stripped out everything in the new tranny. they wouldn't give me my money back or replace it. been nervous about buying another since

how much did it cost u to get ur converter redone and how much does it cost for a new one?

Our custom high stall converter works well in applications where the vehicle is not extremely heavily modified.

However, when you are using a 50 trim or larger set up, the reduced diameter billet unit is what is required to get the correct stall speed and optimum launch characteristics.

[ LSD insert (street tires)

Thanks, Mike. The LSD your talking about where can i purchase one? Will it work on my 97 GST fwd/AT? I believe BM makes something similar (rectangular looking thing)
but i have never been able to find out it will work on my FWD/AT. Thanks, any input will help. Do you have any cams. I have a set of HKS 272's not installed and waiting for more info on trans/parts. IPT is were i'll be shopping. Most likely i'll be getting a billet TQ conv. and their $3k. I wish they would had a package price. $4k in parts plus tax. It's big chunck. then istallation. I in the process of getting a FP 3065 , and a BJ cylender head stage 3. etc.

I need to find out stall speed? I need a TQ that wil keep up coming out of the line and when flooring it at cruising speeds. What can you tell me about stall speeds. Thanks, MIke.
