I just got my billet torque converter in from ipt and its not stalling up like its supposed to. Anybody else had this problem with the billet version? Anybody know if there is a break in period? I didn't think there was, but im hoping that I am wrong. Took it to the track today and could only get 3400 out of it, John said it would be a 5-5500 stall. Also, the bolts keeps coming loose on the converter, anybody know a trick to getting them to stay tight? I just read somewhere to spray them and the holes with brake cleaner and then use red lock tite, guess I will try that. Any ideas on the stall though?

WOW! Talk about some good customer service. I only posted this because I was not expecting to hear from John with IPT until tomorrow since its a Sunday, but he still emailed me back today. Indeed you clean the threads and the holes with brake cleaner and then use red lock tite to keep the bolts from backing out. As for the not stalling up enough issue it seems to be due to a tuning issue. The car isn't making enough power in those lower rpms to get it stalled up. IPT=The best.

Thanks for the kind words.

Why not post the new 1/4 mile numbers thus far?

In your email, you said that you ran a bit faster. :)

Now I got all the bolts holding up and it is stalling up perfect. Indeed it was just a tuning issue. Friday night I will be posting some new times as long as the axles hold up :D
