Going to be running these on my new setup and was just wondering if anyone has any feedback on these yet or am I gonna be guinea pigging these things?

Thanks for that insight.

What's your new setup consist of? I was debating on going with the 288's, but it seems a bit overkill for my goals. I'm sticking with a 50 trim for the time being and will be moving to a BWS258 with my 2.0 ross/eagle and will be upgrading to a VC valvetrain on an otherwise stock 1G head.

Most all of it is listed in my profile, Eagle/Wiseco 2.3, MAP67R, BC 288's with BC springs, Ferrera Valves...All that good stuff.

Not to high jack your thread but the 288's aren't designed for the piston speeds of a stroker. I'd say look into fp3's or 3x's. Just my 2 cents though

My mechanic is running 288's in his stroker from BC and has also ran FP cams, he said he would never go back to FP because the BC's performed just as well.

Also 288's in a stroker perform like 280's in a 2.0L.

I stand corrected then.. I have and like my BC cams over the FP's also, just was under the impression the BC's weren't designed for the strokers. Go for it man !!

Geez, most of the people I know running 9's or faster are doing it on 272's.

Heck, that is one hell of an aggressive cam.

I would really like to see the results, and the information on the cylinder head, and engine buildup, along with SMIM and TB size you intend on using.

How big of valves are you intending on using? I am just thinking of the overlap and potential of things hitting. Claying is going to be a smart thing to do. Are you intending on flycutting the pistons to clear the oversize valve (*usually not an issue unless you are running 2mm oversize intake and 1mm oversize exhaust valves)?

I know Jacks has run them, I have talked to him about it. But with the 2.3L and FWD I wanna rev it pretty high so it seemed like the best choice to get me into the low 9000 rpm range.

Imo, they will raise the powerband too high for a stroker motor. They will be perfect for if you are revving to 10,000, but strokers don't rev that high. If you are looking for cams for a stroker, try some HKS 272's. They have more of an emphasis on lowerend than FP2 (comp cams), Crowers, and BC's.
