I have helped Chris multiple times, i'm the one that helped him put his wideband in and wire it up to the dsmlink, as well as get him up and running ( and out of my garage ).

Correction on this one.... His wife came out with son in arm stating "Honey, you need to come spend some time with your child"

Yeah, we finished up pretty quick and I left

unsure where that came out of my response but ok =).

I was just randomly stating stuff. if you wanted to learn... its a possibility you were asking the wrong questions... or the wrong people? I have helped Chris multiple times, i'm the one that helped him put his wideband in and wire it up to the dsmlink, as well as get him up and running ( and out of my garage ).

I dont judge on different cars ( unless it's a honda =P ) because I havn't had the same type of car twice in a row, every one of them left me wanting more ( more was subjective to time in life , such as now i want this car gone for an evo with more people space and a up to date interior ).

if i could have made the trade you just did, i would have too, inline 6 turbo RWD? give me a break, dsm's are fun, but not that fun.

LOL ...thank you thank you LOL...I was just stating that I was trying to learn ...I probably bounced around too much :)

That was like a whole dollar LOL

Chef's Father: Say, would you crackers like to hear about the time we met the Loch Ness Monster?
Stan: [impatiently] No, that's okay.
Chef's Father: Ooh, it must have been about seven, eight years ago. Me and the little lady was out on this boat, you see, all alone at night, when all of the sudden this huge creature, this giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era, comes out of the water.
Chef's Mother: We was so scared, Lord have mercy, I jumped up in the boat, and I said, "Thomas, Thomas, what on earth is that creature?"
Chef's Father: It stood above us looking down with these big red eyes...
Chef's Mother: Oh, it was so scary!
Chef's Father: ...and I yelled, I said, "What do you want from us, monster?" And the monster bent down, and said, "I need about tree-fitty."
[long pause]
Kyle: What's tree-fitty?
Chef's Father: Tree dollars, and fitty cents.
Chef's Mother: Tree-fitty.
Stan: He wanted money?
Chef's Father: That's right. I said, "I ain't givin' you no tree-fitty, you goddamn Loch Ness Monster! Get your own goddamn money!"
Chef's Mother: I gave him a dollar.
Chef's Father: She gave him a dollar.
Chef's Mother: I thought he'd go away if I have him a dollar.
Chef's Father: Well, of course he's not gonna go away, Mary! You give him a dollar, he's gonna assume you got more!

This is how it really went down

Haha thats brilliant :)
I love that episode haha
Ohh and I just wanted to say

Hiiiii

Yeah how dare we talk about other car interests, kind of why I got rid of mine...no support.
Your right, Tuners doesn't exist to support/help the DSM community fix/build their DSM's, its just a big social networking site for DSM owners. Good thing you won't come here to get the information you'll need to fix your wifes car when its transmission "goes" like your other DSM's.

I did my AWD M/T swap knowing nothing about a transmission or a drivetrain, with just a printed off tech article and a few tools from Auto Zone it got done. Not because of my knowledge, because of this community that has no support... Weird. :idontknow:

Ok... I do not have the luxury of garages and money, I live with my wife and kid in a Studio Apt. with one parking pemit and a parking lot I'm not allowed to do any repair in. I work for less than pennies because Newspapers were bought and I lost my career and have now had to change careers that I didn't just spend 30k at the UofA to have a chance for. I do not have the luxury of just saying oh well tranny went out gotta fix'er, it's more like "OMG what am i going to do" and thank you for even getting me to think about my wifes transmission going out. Give me a minute let me show you what my situation is....

Take a look at my picture I just put to my gallery thing, that is and has been my situation and it got worse because i had to pay a garage to fix this enough to trade my car.....

and that is why everything that I do has got to be done the right way. No oops I broke this or oops I broke that if the fix is too costly and hard to fix and will leave me without a car for multiple days...I have very few choices.

This part was for Corey....

I'm not talking about money, bills, or professions Jason. You said that the DSM community has no support for the platform, if you think that your ignorant. Look at this site, you don't even have to know what to click on and you'll run into a thread of a DSM'r helping a DSM'r. The majority of the members that lurk these forums help other DSM'rs fix their cars from 3,000 miles away without even looking under the hood.

Its none of my business how you spend your money but, from the way it sounds, I wouldn't be spending $0.01 on my car given your situation. Who said your transmission went anyway? The car wouldn't go into gear so you came to the assumption that the transmission self destructed. You jumped to the worse possible conclusion without even checking things out.

Would you pull your engine if your car shutoff driving down the road, before checking how much gas it had? :coy: Sucks about not having a place to wrench on the DSM, I've been there done that but is just an inconvenience. Kris and I did a transmission in a public street cul de sac because of an apartment complex like that, for a DSM'r that had ran out of cash, too. No support. :barf:

I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking at after I Google your name, I see a photographers website.

:dsm:

LOL, i remember on my last eclipse i changed my alternator in a church parking lot, cause it was open...

It's the 10 pages of google showing Newpapers I've shot for just in case you were disbelieving that I have lied about that I have nothing, no good paying job anymore (home with a garage) and from AZ no family nothing, and if I'm caught working on my car we are kicked out of our home period it's a HOA they can do what ever they want to us as long as it's in our lease. Also I did take it to a shop and the guy simple said "you need a new Transmisson,$900 please" I declined and asked for option 4. The guy at the shop "fixed" it enough to trade, I don't know what else to say. The plethera of Articles and posts in the forum are wonderful, they are also explaned in many different ways some missing things others getting misconstrewed then saying "you really don't need to connect this" and then later on you find a new thread after you have already done that saying you shouldn't. I have no clue why you have taken offense to any of my posts in reguards to this, I stated there is no support, active meets, BBQ car working on days ETC. something that is very obvious to us all. This stunts the growth of knowledge because some people ask for help (someone sitting down for a minute and explaning how stuff works) it's not because they are lazy it's because they would like to really learn how to do it without possabilty of error. It seams like your just skimming what I'm typing so I think this is pointless. Point is everything is confusing when it's explaned 5 different ways. I was able to do my turbo swap from a video on youtube and TB rebuild from pictures from vfaq and from the forum because it was solid only one answer numbers, TPS .63 with engine off, closed throttle plate.

LOL, i remember on my last eclipse i changed my alternator in a church parking lot, cause it was open...

All the work I've done on my wifes car has been on the upper level parking at the UTC mall, Alt, radiator and a bunch of hoses LOL My work has not beenhappy with me at all so I had to stop doing stuff there.

My grandfather managed a Goodyear store for 20yrs, he's the reason why I only take my car to a shop for alignments. Every person that walked through that door they tried taking for $1500 (back in the '90's) even if they only came in for a tire rotation. What shop was it, if you don't mind me asking?

I have no clue why you have taken offense to any of my posts in reguards to this, I stated there is no support, active meets, BBQ car working on days ETC.
Considering I've spent countless hours, nights, weekends, months, years... whichever you prefer... on this website providing help whenever/however I can. You saying there is no support here just shit on all the time I, as well as everyone else here, has spent SUPPORTING the community.

You should know as well as anyone about responsibilities, hearing about your situation, so how can you EXPECT BBQ's and consistent meets? Shit, I'm not even married nor do I have kids and finding the time to work on my own damn car is tough.

Good luck with your new platform, I hope Nissan owners are everything you were expecting from us and more. :thumb:
