Hell no! I don't see myself doing it but you never know....there are always fat chicks willing to pay though...
Maybe if I was in Jason's shoes but other than that don't think so.
Btw Jason I'll be needing that ride soon

sock it to the big guysogamigst my brother is selling his s15 because of the law, a friend of his got his car crushed and he got a big fine for his japan right hand drive s15, reason being that the only way to get the cars here is to do it illegally.... only trouble you might run into is ref ticket for that engine but you can always make payments of $10sock it to the big guys
AZ all the way
... you should see if someone will trade you their stock EVO for your built DSM it might work out like it did for me. Your is waaay more built than mine was
. I would even throw cash their way.i would absoulutly love this. I would even throw cash their way.
Jason where did you put it up for trade Craigalist?

I remember when we use to talk about dsms on this site.
man, you got butt hurt quick. won't joke around anymore .sorry. because dsm have no support.
with mouths to feed.DSMs are a for profit community.
Yeah how dare we talk about other car interests, kind of why I got rid of mine...no support. Thankfully Jessica doesn't want to put me through a bunch of tuning with her 2g all she wants is around 300hp thankfully that doesn't require much help.
notedThis much I agree with, unless you search extensively it can be done. there are over 2000 different write-up's on how to do just about every thing on these cars.
tuning 1 car is no different than tuning another so... its a matter of reading and understanding what to look for.
I learned to tune my car from tuning my mustang using a Megasquirt. I read for over 6 months before finally installing it. By doing this i was able to go from a stock ecu, to a custom open source solution for 200 bucks, doing the rewiring my self, building a patch connection to the stock ecu socket and starting the car up on my second attempt ( first time was fail because i forgot to hook up the brake vacuum hose on the back of the plenum ).
there is 1 article on how to install an MS unit on a 4.6 v8 mustang online, it isnt even close to complete but with enough understanding and time I was able to do it my self in 6 hours.
not to rag.... but you relied on others too much to get answers instead of searching for ways to understand what you were doing.
its like on many forums... people will say increase timing 3-4 degree's and some one will add 10-15 degree's with the thought of " if 3-4 added 15 hp... 10-15 will add 15-20". most of us understand this is not the case but he didnt understand what he was doing to his motor on a basic level.
I'm not stupid but I don't know limitations.noted
Honestly WoT isn't even the hard part of tuning. cruise and part throttle/throttle transition is by far the most difficult.
at WOT you remove over half of the variables that get looked at during other conditions.
tuning is too opinionated for the facts behind it to show through ( Physics are the key to tuning [ thermodynamic efficiency, heat transfer, mechanical timing per rpm, flame travel speed at (temp/afr/rpm)]) <--- things to think about just for adjusting timing
tuning a car is like listening to a gal whine about her day. it takes forever, the converstation goes back and forth, you get in trouble for opening your mouth, she starts feeling better then screams because shes over it finally. in the end she feels better and you have done your job.
shitty analogy but its all i got
Well, to me personally, there is a HUGE community in regards to the DSM world. As with anything though, you have to put forth the effort to receive effort.
Im a computer guy, so know minimal things about mechanics, but that doesnt stop me from doing a lot of searching and asking the right questions to understand whats going on. I learn from doing or watching also, but dont need someone looking over my shoulder to tell me what to do and what not to do... I like when i have people helping me, but if i can ask a question over text when ive hit a roadblock, then an answer is good enough for me.
If you want someone to hold your hand while doing things, should have gone elsewhere... DSMers like to help each other without having to do it for you
wow story time

did you get practical application training to do your job or did they sit you down and say here do this, by the way your fired if you screw up....find all of your resources online we have no training class for you ...sink or swim. Would you still be working there? Maybe it's mundane and your above people who know less than you or are afraid to mess up their only way to work and to see their kid.
But cool you probably feel better bashing people who openly admit to not knowing shit about cars and are willing to learn.
How about martial arts, it's the same ethic, if my Sensei for Kendo, Kenjutsu, Kungfu and Jujutsu was like ok do this I would be dead or severly hurt, but because of a community I am high ranked in every subject and fasset of them because I had plenty of sempai to beat the ever living shit out of the question was just this, "my house or yours". Or should I have read all of the Kata from a book and then went to Japan thinking I was going to actually not get my arm ripped or cut off?
Wasn't trying to be rude at all. So if that's how it came across, i apologize...
As for my job, Gufi can attest for this... They sat us down, said here, play with it and read the directions, give us feedback on the directions and see whats wrong. Then we got moved to where were testing stuff... They gave us directions, and said here you go. Our boss doesn't look over our shoulders holding our hands.... we ask a simple question, she explains it, we go about our job... if its something really worth teaching by hand, and unable to be learned from just talking, then they show us... We do our research, we do all our work, we ask when we get stuck, we understand what we did wrong, we go back to working. And no, we had no online training courses for what were doing, just simple steps, and lately we have been writing the steps ourselves....
I openly admited that i knew nothing of mechanics, I am an IT guy. I admit i dont know a whole lot about cars, but most of everything i know is from reading forums and doing things myself. Occasionally i have received help from others that I didn't know how to do, but I more asked how it was done then "hey can you come over and help me?" I have more then a few times offered to come over to other peoples places to help them with stuff, as well as some have called me. Kris helped me with a full head rebuild, I asked him for his help and we came to an agreement on when and how to do it. I was over there helping him as much as I could learning all I could. Corey helped me with my suspension, because we talked about it prior. I was supposed to go over to Gufi's house and do it there, until his wife surprised him with a Disneyland trip for the family.
As for martial arts, technically you went to "school" for what you know, so yes, they show you and drill it into you, so you will know. That's what a "school" does. If they don't, then they are wasting your money. I understand that you had group mates and teachers that would help out when you asked, but you were all learning the same thing in a school environment. So the comparison of martial arts to the comparison of needing assistance with a car is a little mis-construed and out of context.
If you were going to UTI and asked them to come over and give you a hand, you probably would receive help.
Just my .02
ah yes totally true with the tuning... I did sit and actually read a ton of stuff and applied a lot of it. Did the turbo swap the injectors and a whole bunch of other stuff, but it just wasn't very fun doing it alone. So what if I wanted to hang out with people and learn isn't that what having a hobby is all about hanging with friends sharing ideas and going over to there house or them coming over for some beers and cars... I do like to hold hands and have stuff SHOWN to me not done for me, I have asked plenty of times on the forum to hang out and get taught. But it was just kind of pushed away and treated like eh this guy wants free shit or whatever....Kris helped and taught me alot and I value his friendship a bunch but it did make me aware of how we are all not in the same boat, also my wife doesn't even want to get on the forum because she feels like she will just be thought of as another chick that doesn't know anything. This is based off of the lack of comrodery we have. Take a look a zilvia.net and a few other 240/nismo forums they hang out and have car build days no charge just beer and BBQ. So if I'm out casted because of my choice to get a car I've always wanted ...so be it.
