Hmm, in that case, im going to blame his bad sense of tuning... but then again, i cant tune for the life of me right now, so im no better...

can some one please show me the link to our mod get together, I want to go but cant find the link?
I think you are all meeting up at Dennys in oside? That's close to me, so I can find you there if that's the case.

if i had a 2g maf i wouldnt be outflowing it LOL. however i have a 1g maf still. im hitting the maf upward of 2100-2300 hz at 13-15 psi.

I also fixed a major boost leak at a torn injector seal today, which seems to hve helped considerably.

however It still knocks but i think its a rich knock instead of lean, considering i have a gas scale 9.5:1 with e-85

still many bugs to work out. just pisses me off that the issues are becoming faster than i am

just trowing it out the, this is not an event that you might want to bring your girl too , she will get board quick.

Yeah last year I got there at like 9 and the wife wanted to leave by 1030

can any one here do aluminum welding? i need this bung welded into my intercooler pipe... or a 2g maf... iether way is fine

Call GarageGT (858) 505-8030 and ask them when Everett will be in this week, if they ask why, tell them what you need done. I have aluminum IC pipe and he welded my bov flange on for $20, its just hard to catch him at work since he's basically on call.

Or you can go to YoshiFab up in Fallbrook, thats where Kris and I went yesterday. The guy that works up there seems like he does damn good fabrication work but I'm not sure the 45 mile drive each way would be worth a IAT bung? :D

:dsm:

yeah, fallbrook is a bit of a drive, for a bung, but im sure for what you 2 went up there for was certainly drive worthy

Sounds ridiculous but I've had my IC piped through a GM MAF for the last year and have never used it because I switched to Speed Density almost 2 weeks after. Its only use has been to hold the IC pipe to the 1g NA TB inlet, nothing else. I went up there to have YoshiFab (Josh) fabricate a solid UICP that goes from the FMIC outlet to my TB, he did a damn good job too! It was only $35, including materials, it was just the drive that sucked and even then it wasn't that bad because I had banishedmOnk's company the whole way.

:dsm:

Wait, so only 35 bucks for the UICP? thats not bad at all, wonder what the price would be for a full ICP setup

Hey quick question while I'm at work on lunch, what happens if the BOV is set to the hardest setting? will it cause the car to stutter or anything. I was reading some posts saying it could be the plugs wires or coil pack, the problem is all of this stuff is new including the engine and low mile tranny with a ACT 2100 clutch. So this is kinda how it goes I give it gas and the turbo spools then like stutters or spudders whatever you want to call it and I don't mean like thump go ...I mean like thumpthumpthuthuthump go and it's the same acrossed all gears 1-5 I got a ODB2 logger but I can't tell through that what is going on. Kris is going to do a boost leak test but I wanted to see if I could help with a little ground work first.

Yeah I was about to suggest DTM for custom fab. 35 for labor and piping is really really cheap. That doesn't make sense. Maybe he meant he had his own piping so basically all he paid was for him to weld them together. DTM is gonna do all my speed density stuff.

No we drove up there and Josh cut a ubend in half then welded it to the upper intercooler pipe to go into a 90* coupler. This is the same guy that did my piping on my 1g. He is very good at what he does. I am contemplating letting him do the cage in my 2g. Currently he has a Volvo 242 that has a 16v conversion, that he has patented and a mini with a honda bseries. He has also built a few well know cars in the dsm community.

Hmm, im sure hes better then the FMIC i was looking at, but then i would have to take the cost of a core into account... so many options

Is he able to fabricate a Roll Bar for the Spyder that would keep its function but allow the top to work and people to sit in the back?

+1^

Yeah josh did 3 of our conversions and he really did a great job.

well all i need is a bung welded into a pipe that already exists. im really not expecting to spend more than 20 bucks. to be honest.

I have materials already... just no aluminum spool gun for my welder... nor do i have an argon bottle

I'm sure they could figure it out. I think Yoshifab did the roll bar on Andrew Brilliants Spyder (the one in the sites logo). However being that he does't need to accomodate passengers, it's attached there. I'd like to get something similar for mine

You Spyder fellas should get a light bar and forget about a roll bar/cage unless you plan on needing to pass tech at the track for going faster than a 11.99 in a convertible?

They make it in the OEM trim colors too.

I considered one of those for the longest time about from when I got the car in 2007 to like a year ago...I figured I'd rather plan ahead and have something functional.
