100+hp per cylinder in El Diablo
I don't know for sure Nito but in my experience working on, modifying, and racing DSM's I've realized that the ones that build their car themselves are the ones who are passionate about the sport. The ones that throw money at their car, whatever platform it may be, paying for parts and overpriced labor from shops just want BIG NUMBERS. Once the car breaks because it is doing over 100+ hp a cylinder they get fed up and part it, then move on. :dsm:

I honestly believe that statement 200%. After 3 motors and more money than I care to even think about my 2g feels as if she is a crystal meth cupcake addict and just continues to dip into my pocket book while im sleeping, BUT I would never get rid of her. she can sit in her rehab spot in the garage doing detox treatment till its time for her to shine. now my 1g she is a different story. She is more like a field goal kicker. good for a quickie then she gets tired and sits on the bench. but one day she will shine too.

True story I would never sell my Talon or MY 1g LOL its almost insulting when anyone asks if they can buy it for x amount of skrilla or trade if they knew the blood sweat tears pain bruises up to the dirty laundry time etc that was put into it. If I werent unemployed the talon would most likely be rocking a new Hta86 setup for certain. If anything were to grenade it would be a matter of time to be back up. Although you guys can probably relate and wind up working on other peoples cars and leave ## own to fill with dust and dirt neglecting it like there was no tomorrow without thinking much of it. I know I have and need to stop, some people need to learn how to help themselves specially when they take your time and work for granted.

welp the 20g is on. running rich i decided to try it out... its definatly a little more laggy than the 14b LOL. but on the highway that is sooooo nice.

also in first gear just regular accel i dont have to see the boost level get above 1-2.

I did however hit fuel cut at 15 psi LOL guess im gonna have to do the whole maf clamp/ve table thing untill i can get the iat welded in to go full speed density... i Really dont want to buy a 2g/evo maf just to play with a 20g.

also... i wish i would have known that the water pipe needed to be massged a bit for the compressor housing before putting it in... that would have been nice instead of fighting it and giving up after the pipe won.

PS: Ebay 02 housing ftw. however i cant wait for it to disscolor to brown so i dont have to look at something that shiny in the engine bay. I did weld the bolt on one side and welded the nut on the other to make installing that shit 10000x easier.... tho i didnt have a helmet with me last night and ended up missing the mark a couple times , iether way good penetration and every thing held

Next day running the 20g that's what I'm talking about gufy. I have a 2g maf with filter but someone is borrowing it still and also have a 1g to 2g maf plug to run it U can borrow but what good is it when I can't let u borrow the maf. Also have a maft with 2.5 in blow through gm maf for a 1g u can borrow but I know the 2g maf would make the SD table a lot nicer since the gmaft readings tend to jump around with the translator box from what I've read running in conjunction with link

Rule of thumb 20g comes alive at 20 psi

will the 2.5 inch maf work without the maft and link?

i had thought about going with the gm maf but couldnt find any that were cheap enough to keep me from going speed density.

gimme a call tonight around 10:30 , i'll have friends over and i'm not going to sleep any time soon. do you still have my number? i still have your maf you let me borrow already, guess i should return that also LOL.

The MAF translator will only work with the gm maf, it can not directly be spliced into the harness. The signal is totally different. Its either run a gm maf with a maft box or with the gm maf cable ecu link sells for like $80. I have a maft box, my bro was running it in his 1g but the only drawback is that it does not allow you to dial in the latency values for the injectors, only the global fuel correction like the AFC. and i still have your number I think, I just lost internet service on my phone though which is wierd.

well let me know. i lost your number, had to format the phone because i wanted newest droid version but i was rooted and it caused an issue at first.

Well ima be working on a turbo swap on an evo tonight so i might or might not have time tonight. I'l text u right now so u can have my number. My 3g connection isnt working on my phone for some cricket reason.

ouch that sucks.

On the way home my radiator took a Shit thanks to Nito im back up and running with a real dsm rad instead of abcheap half size pos

Again Nito thanks for the help man!

I am going to pick up a APEXI N1 exhaust tomorrow at 8am. Its the down pipe and 3" cat back. I found it for $300 you think that's a good price?
2G BOLT ON FMIC & APEXi CATBACK & DP - DSM Classifieds
he also has a fender for a 1996 eclipse, I was just not sure if that is the same as my 1998 fender any info on the fender matching would be nice thanks. I thought 2gb and 2ga fenders were different?

Not bad, that's probably what I'll be paying for just a downpipe and high flow cat if I have to buy new

did you see the pics? does it look legit he said it is. But I just dont know to much about that exhaust to know if it is?

Do you have nay info on the fender?

Any '95-'99 fender will work on any 2g, its just that the RS/ESi and the 2gb Talon's didn't have doorcaps or sideskirts so the holes to mount them aren't pre-drilled in the fender.

ok thanks:thumb: did you look at the APEXI exhaust link I put up. I was hoping you had some info on it for me? :hmm:

i payed 550 for my turbo back N1 a while back i say it is a good price if there are minimal scratches and everything is in good shape. RARE !

300 is a good deal man, especailly if your getting the downpipe with it too.

Don't need that, going to be running link later... On a side note, will probably be getting a boost controller when I get back from Vegas, so what's a good boost controller that's not a $400 bspec?

just got back from barona, here are my shitty results LOL.

first run 9.2 with a 2.3 60, 82 mph slow launch didnt know what to expect
second 9.1 with a 2.2 60, 84 mph same, didnt get to log the first run,
3rd 9.0 witha 1.9 60 83 mph foot missing 3rd gear, overran the maf <--- this could have been sooooo much better
4th 9.2 with a 1.9 60 75 mph missing second and 3rd gear. overran maf

every time at the line with the two step going to build boost the car would roll forward slightly, so that essentially means my clutch is dragging a bit, i'll have to adjust the rod in the pedal to fix that, but its not a major problem as long as i dont find the master cylinder leaking when i look under the dash.

All runs today were done at 13 psi on the 20g, and these turbos dont "wake up " untill around 20 psi

all in all, good first day at the track, nothing broke, got some good datalogs and will go from there
