well worded chris.

I still do not have access to the ECMlink forums... i have to pull the ecu back out of the car and get the serial number off the chip -_- kinda lame.

Does anyone know who I should pm for those modified door handles that won't break? We were talking about them last friday at the meet.

Gufi If you would like I can sit down with you and answer any questions you may have regarding ECMlink. I would like to think Im well versed in the operation of the software. I have been using it since V2 came out.

That pic came out nice Corey, the car looks blue though, but either way looks really clean, thanks again for your time and effort
Damn, you're right your car is a little more green isn't it? :D

Jerry, heres a link to the website that sells the door handle repair kits. From what I could tell by looking at your busted handle it was still repairable if you used this kit.

I wouldnt mind that at all. i got my intercooler replaced and did the TB coolant bypass. i did not however close off the fiav and now have some pretty bad idle issues. I think my big problem is the fact that its new not that i can't use it. I'm being hard headed, but at the same time a few pointers wouldnt hurt me at all. possibly you can assist me at installing the speed density mods also ( i just need to get the IAT bung welded in )

Both of my previous dsm's had this done already so I didn't even know about it. so i get to do that tonight i guess.

I'm totally down with talking with you at Barona on the 21'st if your going to be there. ( tho i will probably be getting clowned pretty hard by some mustang buddies of mine at the same time, if you see WMD Racing on a bunch of gear/cars thats a website of my friends that i built for them )

Bryan, I don't know how your current MAF setup is working but you don't have to run a IAT to be able to drive the car on a SD tune, you just don't want to go WOT. Running SD you lock the MAF IAT and BARO inputs so the ECU assumes 77* all the time, thats if of course you don't have an IAT installed yet.

You can also close your FIAV by popping the freeze plug off the side of it and turning the valve in there CW until you can't turn it anymore. This will completely close the FIAV and will eliminate your idle issues I'm sure you're having by not running coolant through it.

Typo, its MAY 21st at 10am at Barona Dragway.

current maf setup is stock 1g, and i'd rather not have to peddle around on the map untill then. I have a shop that can do some free welding for me so thats not an issue, i also have the bung i just need to get it done. I'm however in no hurry because i'm going on a cruise to alaska here in a week, so im probably going to drop the BOV pipe off at the shop for the week im gone.

Thanks for the tip, I will probably take a little more precaution and cut up some aluminum that i have and make a block off plate. should be easy enough, one or two pieces of 1/8th inch thick aluminum should be plenty, ya think?

Yeah removing the fiav is a bad idea, idle will suck especially when the car is cold. Very inconvenient if you want to go somewhere fast but have to wait for your car to warm up.

Dam corey your pretty smart man
Thanks, I try! But Kris built my car. :shhh:

Hey Corey, is this the gauge you were talking about? Is $189 kinda steep for this gauge?

That is the gauge Joe but not the place I referred you to, below is the link to VR-Speed.

the blocking off the FIAV is almost required for getting the car to idle properly if you do the throttle body coolant bypass, and even with it operating my car would idle at 3k rpm cold which was horribly annoying. with out coolant flowing through the throttle body the FIAV will stay open due to be being mechanically controlled. I have no intention on blocking of the idle step controller because even with out the fiav it easily controls the idle cold, most cars only come with one or the other instead of both, its currently 56 degree's out side, the car started up without a hitch, got it to operating temp and it idled just as well.

with coolant temps the ecu will adjust the amount of air bypassing the throttle body with the ISC and during cold temps it will have the car idling at 2000 rpm, as it warms up it will lower the idle to 800 ( what i have set because of the cams and the low amount of vacuum that the car produces )

All in all the idle surge problems are gone.

On to better and greater things now. at 15ish psi i'm maxing out the maf in second gear, however in third it doesnt even get close. ( two mafs showing near identical results )

current custom settings in dsmlink>

800 rpm idle
Knock sensor disabled unless over 30% throttle and 3500 rpm ( Phanthom knock backing timing off by 17 degree's at low throttle/rpm, confirmed phantom by slowing coming up in rpm to see what rpm it would occur at in different gears, which turned out to be 2750~3400 rpm and less than 30 % throttle )

no fuel or timing changes as of yet, and its near impossible to make any thing richer because in second gear the IDC is at 98% with a maf reading of 1680 hz

mind you this is all on a 14b.

Oh a side note, Im really getting frustrated with punishment racing, first the 3.5 inch core i had split, then i paid for a new 3.5 and they shipped me a 2.5... i emailed and have yet to receive a reply. the 2.5 doesnt bother me other than the fact that i PAID for a 3.5 and would like the difference back or B for them to ship me a new 3.5
