What the hell man, everybody and there dog wants to come the one freaking time I can't go, thats ridiculous...
 
well this far, on the way to work this morning i changed out the maf with Tido's and there is little to no problem which sucks and rocks at the same time
 
banishedmunk, Chris thanks for looking at the starion im bringing the turbo with me so every one can see.
 
I'll leave here in a few minuits and should show up around 8pm
 
was good meeting a few if you guys tonight, at least now i can relate a few faces to the usernames.

The maf sadly didnt fix the issues with the car so tomorrow after i install ECMLink im gonna get some datalogs and see if i cant find out whats up that way, currently i'm now thinking toward overactive knock sensor... and if that ends up being the case i may end up having to get something dampen the sounds it hears.... and if that does not work... its getting the zip tie and black tape in a random location treatment

Sorry I didn't say goodbye, but 2 of the cars I followed we're just going to take off without me.
Anyway it was fun to hang and get to see everyone down south again.

I found oil everywhere in the air cleaner all the way to the intake? & I mean LOTS. :confused: could this be blow by, a bad turbo, or?

normally i would have asked for help but untill i've exhausted every possible option.

trouble shooting is part of my field ( i'm a programmer ) and since an ecu is nothing more than a computer reading a graph is childs play compared to read a stack trace.

I'll figure out out soon now that i have DSMLink in the car to see what the sensors are telling me.

it is a mixture of both the turbo is definately a major culprit time for the rebuild
 
PTE BRO! gat dein that doesn't even sound right.

Anyway, I was so late to the meet I missed out on the turbocharger discussion. Which turbo won the discussion?
 
Been meaning to ask. Any of you guys running without emissions that still go get smogged? I'd like to get rid of some of the stuff cluttering the engine bay.
 
No way man part of the visual inspection here in Cali is having those emission components.
 
found where my boost leaks are coming from... intercooler core is split in the middle on a 2 of the bars, dead center.

looks like im calling up punishment to see if they will trade me one out or something
 
I took off all my emissions stuff but the sensors are still there... will need smog check next year though

Does it look like the crack was caused by stress or something like lack of manufacturer's quality control?

honestly it looks like it was never sealed properly, so far tonight with the "quick fix" of jbweld/putty it holds perfectly well now. the demeanor of the car is 100% different compared to before. if this is all it was i will be horribly happy.

I do have a little throttle tip in knock happening, the wide band never reads lean any more nor does it read above 65-70% duty cycle for the injectors. maf readings at 10 psi are around 1200 hz... i'd say the car runs very well right now.

oh well. i need to sell this cobra motor now.
