another timing question

Hey all.. I am a frequent user of Vafq and Dsmtuners, and I have learned alot of info on these sites.. but I have a question.

I know how to time my Tsi AWD and have done it several times (like 8) but lately I have seemed to enconter the problem of bending the valves. my car was running fine and I decided to fix the oil leak from under the drivers side and had to take the belt of in the process. well...

I timed it just like I always have and exactly like vfaq/chilton/and haynes said. But somehow I ended up bending a few intake valves, back to back after getting them redone twice.

Please help! I am running out of money buying headgaskets and valves..

any suggestions would help..

IM me and we can talk about this more. Do you have both dowels facing up on the cam gears? Have you taken the cam gears off at all? Do you have the marks meeting up in the middle after you pull the pin out of the auto tensionor? Do you have your tensionor pulley tightened over all the way? After you bend valves, have you checked the timing at all, has it jumped time? Those are a few questions. If you live anywhere near Dallas, TX, I could find out for you.

Your hydraulic tensioner, tensioner pulley, or idler pulley could be bad.
