I searched but couldnt find a list to check if what I am going to order is everything I need.

Is this everything I need?

I will be buying this stuff from Slow Boy Racing.

Balance Shaft belt
Balance Shaft Belt Tensioner
Idler Pulley
Mitsubishi 4G63 Timing Belt
OEM Timing Tensioner Bolt
Tensioner Pulley
Timing Belt Hydraulic Tensioner

This stuff from dsmparts.com

Timing Belt Tensioner Tool DSM
DSM Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley Socket
DSM OEM Water Pump

This is my first time doing this I wanna make sure I get everything, is there anything else I should replace while I am in there? I was thinking I better replace my crank pulley to but I couldnt find a oem one on either site, I read I could get one from Burshur Racing.

Also engine has 170,xxx miles on it.

Thanks Guys.

Purchased a spec stage 2 clutch and fidanza aluminum flywheel.

I think you will be well rewarded for your wise decision. Perhaps at this time you might consider a balance shaft elimination kit?

Just be absolutely sure of the install procedure. 4g's don't forgive for careless install. It is your first time and I for one want to make sure it's a good project for you.

There's a wonderful vfaq on this procedure. If you can't find it, pm me and I'll send it to you.

Good Luck

Well I thought of the Balance shaft elimination but Ive read that its a pain to install with the engine still in the car? Ya I have been reading the vfaq procedure and my chilton for the past couple days. If that is all the parts I need I think I will order them when I get off work :thumb:

the only other parts that i would buy would be the 5 seals that go on the front of the motor. 2 cam seals, crank seal, bb shaft seal, and oil pump seal. also if this is your 1st tb job, i would suggest finding a local dsmer to lend a hand/supervise. it is not really a hard job, you just need to pay attention to what you are doing. as stated, these engines are not very forgiving of a bad tb replacement.

Yes I was thinking I should replace those seals. I dont know of any dsmers around my area. i'm not gonna try and and do it all in a day, I have another vehicle to get me around till I finish this. I would like to try and do it in a weeked though. Thanks for the input so far guys.

I just read the balance shaft elmination install on vfaq.com that seems like a head ache waiting to happen so i'm gonna stick with just replacing the belt and pulley and see how i feel about it in 60000 miles
