Another Ignition Timing question

Guys,
i've just checked the cam gear timings as well as crank pully. everything is aligned. I've also adjusted the CAS with timing gun to align timing and its all good now.

Just noticed, now the idle vaccum is around 16/18Hg which was 20 before (when CAS timing was off) and at idle on DSMLink log i'm seeing around 10/11 degree Ignition timing (with all sliders 0'd)

Any reason why timing is soooo low and vaccum as well?

Isnt 17/18 vaccum low for a stock motor ? What about the timing everyone sees on their link when idleing? I thought I should see 15 or more

18 in hg is right on the money for idle vacuum at sea level and 8-10* BTDC the spec for timing at sea level. Where are you getting your data from?

i use to get 20/21 vaccum, therefore 17/18 is a bit low in my dictionary

What rpm do you idle at? A very small change in idle speed will cause the changes you mention.

I live right at about sea level. Before my cam swap to 264/272s, my vacuum levels were the same as what you are seeing- 18 in Hg. Timing at idle was also around 10 degrees BTDC. I don't see anything wrong with what you described.

Idle speed can affect the vacuum level a little. If it's low, your vacuum can dip a little and if it's high, you vacuum level can increase slightly. With my cams and an idle set at 900 rpm, my vacuum level is about 12 in HG and the car runs and idles fine.
