ok so i am in the middle of my six bolt swap right now! So far not too bad.....i am putting in a maft and 3 gm maf. Do i need a 1g maft or 2maft? ?I was thinking that i needed the 2g since it was still the 2g ecu? also the plug wires am i using the stock sequence or what? i was reading somewhere that if you did the whole swap(meaing the 1gblock and 1ghead) that you needing to put the plug wires in different order?haven't had the chance to start it up yet. Im using a cas from a galant cause it had the longer cord. the motor is in now just need to put the maft and intercooler piping in

Everything stays the same. You can use the 2 maf and you have to swap plug wires. Into i belive its 4123 but i would search and double check on that.

If you're doing a MAF-T setup, then you'll need a 3" GM MAF (no 1g or 2g MAS). This means you'll have to go to a junkyard and get a MAF from a GM vehicle (the one I got was from a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo - there is a whole list of cars with this part in this thread - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/805190-post18.html).

Use this firing order:
4-1-2-3 on the coil pack (or 3-2-1-4 if that one doesn't work)
4-3-2-1 on the head from left to right

If he's doing a MAF-T setup, he won't need a stock 1g or 2g MAS. So it will just be filter>intake>turbo - no MAS on there. His MAS will be a GM MAF and will be in the uicp between the bov and the tb.

I think he means, does the translator have to be for a 1g or 2g..big_d

DOH! I definitely didn't see the t in the first post.

Yes, if you have 2g ECU, you'll use a 2g translator.

Please fill in your profile and put the year of your car in so we can help you better in the future.

It doesn't matter wether you have a 1g translator or a 2g translator.. Either will work, but i'd get the 2g so it has the correct plug to make it a plug and play deal.
