i currently have a hahn 16g turbo setup. Running a 3in DP and 2.5" exhaust with 2 resonators in it. How much would i benefit from going full 3" exhaust and no resonators? Would i even notice a difference?

A single 2.5" is good for 300hp. You have a 3" dp which is the most import part.

What kind of power do you think you're putting down. With out knowing that, my bet would be, you probably wont notice a difference.

I don't think the pants dyno would notice, In fact you will drive slower to make it sound less raspy without resonators :sneaky:

2.5 inch exhaust is totally fine.If you happen to work something where you got rid of the 2.5 and got a 3 inch that would be benifitial.Less exhaust restirction for turbo cars is always going to be better.Never hurts to always start off with a full 3 inch exhaust.

If you remember the basics the engine needs three things to create power fuel, intake/oxygen and exhaust so if you upgraded from the factory sized Turbo it would be best to compensate by opening up the exhaust more do get rid of the excess gases created by the bigger Turbo so I'd start from the downpipe all the way back increasing to a 3"in inlet pipe

Stock piping is 2.25 you dont think going from 2.5 to 3 all they way will not make a difference in power. Darrenp picked 40-50 horses going from an apex n-1 that is 3 inchs to a custom exhaust that was with 3 inch resanators also.

Any proof of that? The catback is the least important part of the exhaust, as far as performance goes. I've seen logs of people flowing 35lbs/min on a t28 pick up only 20hp going from stock exhaust(w/cat delete) to a full 3".

Most will agree a catback upgrade gains are typically in the 5-10hp range. Now the op has a 3" dp and 2.5 catback already. His gains will be half that. At his power level $300+ on a new catback for 2hp is not worth the trouble.

If he's looking for a different or deeper exhaust note then maybe he will be meeting his goals.

Btw, for the third time. He has a 3"dp and 2.5" cat back. Hes wondering if upgrading from a 2.5" cb to a 3" cb will be worth the trouble.

To the op, save your money. Invest in something to tune with. That will show very noticeable gains in all areas.

The only issue he could be looking at with the 3 inch downpipe is boost creep.Unless you making over 500whp you will be fine with your exhaust now.Doesn't hurt to have a full 3 inch but you will be fine.
