2G alternator replacement

Does anyone know if is easy to remove alternator from 1998 eclipse gst or should I take it to a mechanic shop ??? Like do I need special tools for it hope is not a dum question

It's an easy hand tools install. Nothing special required.
Do you have the basic skills needed to do the job?

I do basic stuff

It's pretty basic. Easy job. The hardest part in my opinion is that it's a tight fit. Hard to get your hands in there.

No need to raise the car. I've done it on the side of the road with I think just a 12mm and 14mm wrench in 10 minutes.

Make sure to disconnect the battery before you remove the power wire off the alternator.

And notice the tensioning bracket orientation so you don't put it back in upside down. I actually find it easier to drop the alt out the bottom.

Easy I also drop it out the bottom myself.
