Alternatives for Palm logging?

I already have the laptop version of datalogger, but the battery in the old laptop is getting old.

So I thought it would be cool to get a pocket logger.

But dude at pocketlogger.com wants $125 for the SW and the cable? At that price it is more cost-effective for me to just buy a laptop battery.

But I wouild rather find a good deal on the software and cable for a palm, cause it's smaller, and laptop is older, it's like 366 MHZ.

Anyone know of a more cost-effective solution then the $125 for the SW and cable?

$125 is cheap for a quality product. The software's free. It's the cable that costs so much. I own one and reccommend it to anyone that needs to log their car.

But if your really that cheap there is a program called mmcd (reccommended over tunerstein) and another called tunerstein (have heard this is buggy) that are free. You'll still need a cable. Assuming your existing one is compatible... all you need is a palm. do some searching and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.
